My 2013 JK has fewer luxury options than my 2003 Ram 2500, or my old 1984 Suburban 3/4 4x4. JK's windows have hand cranks and it's got a 6-speed manual.

My JK represented the perfect balance between modern performance and reliability coupled with simplicity.

My TJs windows had zippers.

I didn't want a YJ, because I don't want to have a headache from driving... Before I even reach the trailhead. I didn't want a Rubicon because I didn't want to thrash a $40,000 rig. We all have specific criteria that we're looking for.

Frankly, if I wanted a YJ-esque rig them I'd get a CJ and at least get V8 torque in exchange for the horrible ride and weather exposure.

My YJ was like riding in a log truck. My TJ was my Lil Mule with the 4.0......she's got a 5.3 Chebby motor now.....

My 2014 Rubicon Unlimited is NICE......

But, I do about 60,000 miles a year in my GMC 2500 HD crew cab 4x4 for work......

Whatever floats your boat. I like my YJ. I've seen guys out on the trails that have 50k+ tied up in a JK & they wheel the piss out of them. I'm talking body damage, broke glass, all kinds of abuse & they just keep on going.

I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

I am confused.
I love my YJ too. It is my weekend drive. Been driving it on weekends for three years. Can't wait for weekends so the wife and I can go for a ride. However I have not been to a mall in over ten years and we never go for trail off road rides either. So does this make me a mall cruiser?

I personally wouldn't own one myself. Just my opinion.
Plastic jeep

The JK driver doesn't wave to me around this area either..

Not to throw shit on the fire, but the JKs come with the same engines as the Grand Caravans

x2

Most of the JK owners don't wave back in my area. Most, but not all.

in the 70's Harley Davidson came damn close to shutting their doors forever. In the early 80's, some of the original Harley and Davidson family members bought Harley-Davidson from AMF.
They came out with a new engine and motorcycle designs. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY. ....ANYONE....RAISE YOUR HANDS PLEASE....THEY STARTED MARKETING TO THE DOCTORS AND LAWYERS AND WHITE COLLAR PEOPLE...because these people had money.
I had been riding Harleys about ten years already and I thought, what a bunch of crap...These dickheads don't know anything about being a biker or what it means.............They were mall crawlers... and I guess the old bikers were the cj and yj people.... I think moral of the story is....
History keeps repeating itself

Yes it does. I too, remember the AMF days. Although quality suffered a bit, at least they kept Harley alive long enough to be bought back. As for the discussion here...the dealerships/manufacturers need to sell units. As stated, they will sell to whoever has money/credit. Vehicles evolve over time and not always for the better. I love my YJ and loved my shovelhead. I wouldn't mind a TJ or an Evolution. Not a fan of the JK but only because everyone has one. To each his own. I'm glad to see this thread took a turn in the right direction. At the end of the day, we are all Jeepers with a passion for off roading. Just my 2 cents.
