Makes it easier to go deeper in water/mud.. But its not worth the investment if you dont go deep mud/water.

Well pros you can go deeper in water. Cons a snorkel is only good if it's done correct and really it's no good if you submerge the ecu or other electronics. All of my electronics are moved to my dashboard to stay dry.

Okay thanks. Does a snorkel increase the performance or not?

I hear both. I have a snorkel and a buddy of mine doesn't. We had the same year YJ's, engine, tranny, size tires and gearing. We drove a couple hours north to an event and he had to fill up before coming back home. I made it almost all the way home before I thought I might be pushing my luck and stopped to get gas.

Pros:

-Free undercarriage wash
-None of your friends can do it
-Proves how water tight your Jeep is

Cons:

-Tub might leak a little (or a lot, which is usually the case)
-Water will get into axles, tranny, t-case, and possibly engine
-Not electric fan friendly.

Con--you have it for a precaution but friends think it makes you the depth finder.
