soa idea dead

hey everyone havent been here i a while soo i figured ide see whats up. i also need some opinions. ive given up on the soa idea for now and im just gunna do a 4-4.5 in lift with my 1.5 in shackles. what lifts flex well and wont completely break the bank i have about 1200 to spend and thats gunna include sye and pay for part of the tires. my moms gunna let me use her wheel works card to pay for the rest and ill just make payments. im prolly just gunna get 33s but ide like to go with 35s if u guys think i can stuff them under the wheel wells and still have some flex room. i also use the jeep to commute soo ide like somethin that rides good on the freeway. one more thing, u guys think ill need to throw the swaybar back on with that much lift it drive fine now but im not sure how it will with a lift and ide rather just leave it off instead of having to buy quick discos.

92 yj, 1 1/2 inch shakles, 31/ 10.50/ r15s worthless tires, upgraded u-bolt yoke, no front swaybar, gutted interior, flowmaster with 2 inch pipe, softtop(upgrade to me)

i would think you could soa for that much, easily...

93 sahara, 4.0 5 speed, d30+8.8, worn out rough country lift, 32x11.5 pro comp MT, SOA on the way!!!

no spring under lift is gonna ride nice at that height. soa rides nicer than stock usually. and 33" or 35" tires are gonna take your 1200 bux if you need wheels. if you don't need wheels you're still gonna spend 800 min.

soa is way better in all cases, nicer ride for street driving, and better performance off road. no matter what you should just wait till you can do soa.

You will be hard pressed to find a good-riding 4-4.5" lift for a YJ. The inherent increased arch in the springs will make the ride harsher that stock springs every time. You can control some of that by getting high quality shocks to help out. If you are looking at doing SOA at any point, just save up your money a little longer, and do it right the first time. You will be rebuying a lot of parts to do the SOA conversion in the future, unless you want to end up with 11-12" of total lift by reusing your 4" lift springs. Any reason that you decided not to go SOA?
