Soft Rear Windows Not Cooperating

Right now I'm still running my hard top, but I want to try to get this resolved before the soft top season arrives.

I have issues keeping my two side rear soft top windows from popping out of their respective channels while driving at any speed. I'm certain that its my original soft top hardware wearing out; however, I'm wondering if a set of adjustable spreader bars could be a fix for this issue. For the past several years I have just given up on them and leave the windows out until late November, when I put on my hard top.

Has anyone elseexperienced this and has anyone been able to resolve this without replacing a majority of their soft top hardware?

well i have on my right side window...mine was a simple fix i had to push the plastic lip up into the channel after it was in...if that makes sense. the lip was in but not fully seated just a lil upward push is all it took...try it see what happens.

That's what a lot of people do, I think. What year is your Jeep? Probably just bent the bows somehow, and need to straighten them out a bit.

I know what you mean... At first this would fix it, but not anymore... Thinking about it now, the channels themselves could be bent out a little, allowing the window to slip out of them.

Perhaps... It's a '93 YJ and the hardware is just as old.

I was thinking the new or adjustable spreader bars could reduce the slack in the top, keeping more tension on the windows, thus making it harder for them to slide out.

It'll be at least a few weeks until I try anything, all suggestions will be appreciated. I'm just hoping for a cheap fix.

We sell bow knuckles that are adjustable. Not positive if they work on your application.
