Soft Top Question

I have a 94 YJ that needs a top badly. What would be the best top I could buy for the least amount of money and who sells them. I have never replaced a soft top. How difficult is it to do.

Thanks

There are many good soft tops all pretty good quality. You pay for the quality in most of them.

If you want a used one im sure you can get one on craigslist fairly cheap.

also, check out Quadratec.com and 4WD.com. you can get soft tops there for as low as 250-300 bucks. but Best Top makes the best top for the money

If the hardware is still good, you can get a replacement skin for about 260 on Quadratec.

Take a close look at what you have vs what you wnat to have. They are not all equal in function or quality. Some have fixed side windows while others have zip out side windows. You will only get as good as what you are willing to pay for.

Craigslist. I just missed one here by me for $225, but scored another Bestop Supertop with all hardware and full soft doors for $250 a week later. Be diligent and fast. They don't last long when priced right.

Yep - craigslist is the way to go.
When I decided to go soft this winter I looked for about a month every day - two fell thru then I eventually got a great deal on a used RAT with frame.

IF you have a frame - Replace A Top by bestop is worth the money IMO - very tight, warm & minimal noise as compared to the PO Supertop I had before I got the hardtop...

on a side note; I really like the frameless California Tops made by that one man operation in Canada... but the stories I heard made me hesitant

Smile soft top

Well, I'm new at this, but my neighbor is "seasoned". He said he is happy with his CA top (5 years old) and would buy another, but said be prepared to wait 6 weeks to get it. Said the liner made it super quiet. Said the guy will customize if you ask??
