After running a pavement ends top for a short time (sold by Bestop) I will only run a supertop or replace a top. Don't go cheap, it will usually piss you off. Also make sure whatever you get you can get replacement parts for. Even though my P.E. top was sold by Bestop I couldn't replace anything.

I got the replace-a-top in black from Quadratec: Bestop 51123-09 - Bestop® Replace-a-top™ with Half Door Skins & Tinted Windows for 88-95 Jeep® Wrangler YJ - Quadratec

I've had it for almost a month and no problems what so ever, its also easer take down and put up than the stock top even with the stock hardware.

Got a pic on your rig? I'm in the market myself.

I did the Bestop Sailcloth top with tinted windows about a year ago. It's been a great top. Quadratec #11032.215 79123-01

They are on sale right now.

Is it that much quieter to warrant the price?

Surf: Do you already have the hardware from a previous top? If so, you can get a replacement skin or Replace-A-Top and save some bucks. Sailcloth is only available as an option on replacement tops.

If you've never had a soft top, or the hardware is gone, you're looking at a Supertop or a Sunrider (that one has the option to flip back the front half, like a big sunroof).

Those are just the options from Bestop. I've heard rumors that there are other companies out there.

You can get $100 rebate until the end of the year.

(And yes, Morphius, you get brownie points. Thank you!).

no I do not have the hardware for the soft top so I would need the hardware and the full soft top for a 1993 Wrangler YJ, how much do you think that will run me?

Bestop is the only top that will grace my Jeep. I've had others thinking "how much different could they be?"...I found out.

Well, you get even more options now. Tinted windows or regular? What kind of doors do you have? No one said this stuff was simple!

Pricing is hard for me, because we don't sell direct, and it's up to our retailers to charge what they want. Here's a screen shot from Quadratec's web site of a Supertop with no doors. If you add in the $100 rebate, it's a good price, $544.49. (but other places may have same or better).

I understand that, I've run nothing but a bikini top for months.

My bikini top just got thrown out, because someone saw it in the garage and thought it was trash...
