Sparkplugs...Ouch...

Ok, I finally got around to doing the first tune up on my wrangler. As I started pulling my spark plugs I was very surprised to see a white hard crust built up around #'s 1-4 and the porcelain arount the electrode on 5 and 6 was cracked in half. See the below image for the white crust. The engine runs great and has plenty of power. With a cracked head it would only effect one or two cylinders and the same for a head gasket. Anyone have any ideas?

if it runs good and isnt losing coolant i wouldnt worry looks like high mileage replace them and make sure they are gapped right and pull one to check it every time you change the oil

That's what I was hoping. I'm not a big fan of the bosch platinum series (which is what those are) so I'm hoping good old autolites will be better. The plug wires I pulled off it were so old they pulled apart and cracked as I pulled them off. Didn't look like anyone had touched it in about 5-10 years.

Autolites is about the WORST thing you can use. Put the original Champion plugs back in it at least. Autolites suck! They autolite but they don't.

When your Jeep is lifted, generaly, it will NOT drive like it used to.

Evar have a spark plug fall out while you were driving? I tell you what, it will make you have to clean out your shorts. A couple of months after I bought my jeep the number 4 plug popped out of the head. i thought I blew it up. I was about tho hours from home by the PA Grand Canyon without tools. Learned that lesson too. luckily a guy at a nearby restuarant had a socket set. It didn't do any damage, I just put the plug back in and drove home.

So far so good. I've been checking them regularly and they look good so far. Now just to get around to the rear main seal, transfer case seals and rear differential cover. If it isn't one thing it's another.
