stock gearing and axles?

Anybody know what axles and gears came stock on a 92 YJ 4.0l 5 speed? I'm clueless when it comes to that stuff.

Also I'm having some issues when I go offroading. I would consider it to be mild offroading just sand and small hills. Every time I try to climb a hill or get through some soft sand it stalls on me unless I dump the clutch and floor it. Any help would be a big step forward for me. Thanks guys!

The gearing could be 3.07 or 3.55 It should say it on your diff housing. Your front is a D30 axle and your rear is a D35

Sounds to me that you may be too high in gear and it is just stalling out.

Is that a good set up? Can I change gears without changing axles?

Sometimes I'll start out in second, stall out and then start in first and it'll do it. Sometimes the only way out is In reverse, lol.

You can always upgrade gearing with out upgrading axles... Just depends on what you want to do. You can get 4.10 gears out of a 4cyl. wrangler or go higher and buy a ring and pinion set from quadratec or other various providers.
