Mine broke inside as I said earlier on. I took a peice of 1/2" stock, cut it down to fit inside the frame, drilled & tapped a hole in it. I then opened up the hole were the e-brake cable goes thru the frame. I brazed a coat hanger to it then used it to hold it in place as I tightened it up. The block turned & wedged itself in place against the frame rail. It's amazing what one can come up with when faced with a problem.

Make sure the area is clear of FLAMABLES, then get your tools ready

Take a propane torch, flame each bolt for at least 30 seconds-rap it once with a little sledge--BINGO, COMES RIGHT LOOSE

I just did that with a left front wheel lugnut (spline), came off like butter

well i'll give it a try but if i break um I'm just going to get out the pencil some drafting paper and redesign the whole friggen skid plate. so that the bolts dont go inside the frame was thinking about setting up a mounting bracket on the side of the frame. so that if they ever get rusted again then i can take and heat up the bolt with out all the crap.

Good luck and when you do that, get a set of those skid plate WASHERS that shield the bolt head, so rocks don't shear it off

no they dont make skid plates like that for the yj that i have ever seen. but i was thinking with some square tubing some 3/8 steel and some good old determination i can fix this. and make a cool looking skid plate.and truthfully i dont ever want these bolt to be a problem again.
