I am looking for an actual photo of the wiring of an original factory dash. When I purchased my jeep the gas gauge is not connected to the tank sensor and I need to know which wire it is suppose to be. Can anyone help me? She has been modified by others and some modifications were not completed.

Didnt want to start a new thread so I figured I would ask on this post, I have a 95 wrangler with the Aisin AX-5 manual transmission. What kind of oil do I put in the tranny, I want to change the fluid in it. Thanks

New problem with my YJ (88, 4 cyl, manual)... Went to replace the "breather element" at the back of my valve cover and noticed there was oil on it, quite a bit of oil, then I noticed the oil was mixed with a clearer liquid. Turns out that clearer liquid is gasoline. So I either have worn piston rings or weak valve springs or head gasket leak on one or more cyls?

How bad is it for me to drive it? I don't know exactly how long I've had this problem but I did notice the last time I got gas that I had only put 132 miles on a tank.

I have a 95 with a 4.0 and 3.55s according to the build sheet.

TF904 and the TF999 are almost identical. The casing is pretty much the same on both.

If it's an I6, than it's a TF999. They only put autos in 4 cylinders between 94-95 YJs, and that was the TF904.

Yeah I have had that year with um, nothing past 91 though. That's why I'd like confirmation on a 93-95 having um.

The Sahara trim came with 3.73 gears at least from 1991 up.

Actually mine has 3.73's. To shed some light on this subject it is a 1995 2.5l 3 speed automatic. Yes I was under the jeep and both the front and rear diffs have the tag and say 3.73 on them. If you want I will get a pic of them as soon as i can get some light under there to show you.
Ian.

You have a rare dude actually...in my 47 yj's I've only had one 4 cylinder automatic. I had to put a motor in it, but I never actually looked at the diffs.....so, I stand corrected on at least your situation

Never seen a 6 though

Easiest swap would be a 78-9 Ford 60 front an a 10.25 rear from 86-97 F250-350

I went to put gas in my YJ and when I pulled the gas cap, there was no suction on the otherside. What would cause that?

When I bought mine in 92, the three Saharas at the dealer were ALL 3.73s. My friend's 91 Sahara had 3.73s and he didn't modify gearing. I didn't look at the build sheets and maybe this was a dealer thing but I don't see them making such a mod. Perhaps it is regional?
Anyways, I am NOT bsing you and I'll rephrase my statement - all 91 and 92 Sahara trim YJs that I've seen had 3.73 gearing.
BTW, you have three Saharas?

My 1995 4 cylinder auto is a 3.73.

Which means I'm gonna have to edit this.

Well I did till today, I sold the 94...but I have two 95's and both of them have 3.07's.

Odd, out of the 40+ YJs I have had, none had 3.73's....3.07, 3.55, and 4.10 only

Thanks for the info. Being that this is my first jeep and it is a 92, this was very helpful.
