This Will Make You Feel Better About Yourself

i thought i'd put this little story up to cheer someone up who's having a bad day.
i bought this 4.0 that has changed hands twice before cuz no one followed thorugh on project. engine is in peices, all machine work done, new valve job, machined head, and block, and all.
so i go and spend about 20 hours porting, polishing, and even lapping the valves, in this head, eventhough they're new, just to do a real nice job. i give it to the machine shop to steam clean the metal flakes out, and i say hey, just pressure test it while ya got it. i paid them fifty bux to tell me i got a really nice, ported and polished paper weight. its cracked. you'd assume someone would have tested it before they machined, and did valve job. some hillbilly's had this and cut corners. i still paid less than the original machining cost, and i still have a good block, but i'm still not happy.

have a nice day

ya, the pics are mainly fust of the port&polish job, and valve lap. ya'd assume a rebuilt head would be ok, and actually it looks like the leak is where someone tried to repair it. hillbillies
