My '95 runs fine and only has 50k mi on it. However, when starting especially, the rockers or tappets or both are louder than I would like with a ti-ti-ti-ti-ti... sound. Once oil circulates and warms ups a bit the sound is still there but not that noticeable. Since I have not been around other jeeps to know if this is just the norm for the I6 4.0 or not, thought I would ask? Even if it is normal, has anyone found aftermarket replacement parts that made a difference? I have seen roller rockers and performance tappets/rods? but not certain they are worth the effort or money or if the annoying tapping would go away or not? On the other hand, if all I need to do is replace some worn rods, rockers or both to get rid of the tapping sound I would. Just to be clear is isn't so loud that I think anything is bad, just loud enough and annoying enough to me that there could be some wear that might justify changing some parts.
