If it's over 100,000, Pennzoil Synchromesh. It may be slightly pricey but trust me it's worth it!

The original fluid calls for 75/90W GL-5 gear gear lubricant, however, the standard stuff likes to eat the brass synchronizer rings and will eventually destroy the rings.

I've put in RedLine MT-90 before, as it's brass friendly stuff. Worked well, but it's expensive.

10W30 motor oil is the new MOPAR parts standard for the AX15 transmission fluid. I currently have it in my AX15 and it works fine. I change the transmission oil when I change the engine oil.

Some people use Pennzoil Synchromesh.

It is a debate, so please take what I am about to say with a grain of salt and do research.

Do not use a GL-5 lubricate it your trans. It has the chance to eat the synchronizer rings. Some say it won't. But lets not chance it. Enough of us agree that there are other better options. Jeep even changed their recommendation to 10w-30. Please don't get the numbers confused between motor oil and gear oil. 10w-30 motor oil is nearly the same viscosity as 75w-90 gear oil. Just don't get something GL-5

I'm on my third ax5... DO NOT use a GL5 oil, I promise it will hurt your tranny. .. Go with the 10w30, redline mt90, or pennzoil synchromesh

Just buy a 4 or 5 qt bottle and you'll be fine.

I use full synthetic 75w90 gear oil which doesn't damage "yellow" metals. Full synthetic 10w30 motor oil would also be a good choice.
