Set it up on the vise (vise set so it hits outside the u-joint) use a small socket of drive tool and hit it a few times HARD. Then press it out with the vice. BTW Harbor Frieght has a u-joint/ball joint tool for about $30 that works good. You still may have to break it loose.

Use more force. They WILL come out..........although not peacefully.

I unfortunatly ( so I should prob shut up) can not speak from hands on experience......but....my 94 YJ Rear drive shaft was used as an example for a "Tech Day" in a shop.......and it was a Biatch to get the U out And the new one back in. Files were use, press was used.....I am just glad that I did not have to try that in the trail..........mag's and such make it sound like nothing........Bwaaa!!

Keep at it.......or suck it up and bring it to a shop.....at most they can only charge thier Hourly Rate....or perhaps they will have pitty...

I would suggest before you work on anything spray it with PB Blaster for a few days. I found this a big help and I live in AZ (as in no rust) you will probably see even better results.

one of mine almost fell out. the other one we stood up ina vise and hammered out...... just a tip for putting new ones in, if the fit is too lose. take a nail punch of some sort and hamer in into the the part of the yokes where the u-joint goes (that little circle piece) hit it 1-2 times in several different spots all the way around. this causes swelling around each of these dimples. this swelling will hold the u-joint in securely
