wagoneer rear axle

theres an 80s wagoneer (same size as the cherokee) sittin in the local junkyard. ive herd that these come with the dana 44 and they look to be the same as the cherokee im not sure if its soa or sua (ill be checking today), but how hard is the swap if its sua is it bolt in or soa do i just gotta get a soa kit for the front help with this would be greatly appreciated i will be doing research i just wanted to see what u guys know

I belive you should see a 44 stamped if your look at the bottom of the housing

i never bothered to look for a stamp on my 44 before i got rid of it.....you may be right.

should have f/r 44's... you want both as the wheel bolt pattern is different from the yj's

Be careful though, some waggy's had the AMC20. It was stronger than the CJ's AMC20 though.

Just be careful if you are looking for a D44.

im just lookin for sumthin stronger then a dana 35 soo i can run 33s and a locker. the front of the wagoneers have coils will this axle bolt up or do i gotta weld on the old mounts

Waggys have leaf springs all the way around. But the leaf spring perches are in a different spot. You'll have to either cut them off carefully and reweld or buy new ones....
