The correct way to fix is cut out all the rust/ rot over cutting about an inch all the way around cut a patch to fit said hole weld thru prime the patch both sides and area to be parched then weld sand fill it prime sand paint to fiberglass it cut said rot out grind 2 to 3 inches around the now missing sheet metal mix your resin follow directions on can. Take a cheapo paint brush duo in resin and brush the grinded area put fiberglass sheeting ( cut to size a little big ) on cardboard saturate with resin using the brush to work into the sheeting then flip and repeat place the matting on the repair area using brush or fingers to work out any air pockets where it overlaps the metal. Masking tape helps hold up the sheeting as gravity will place it on the floor

Put an Accel Tune Up Kit in today on my 94 4.0 HO. Big difference in power. Needed a little life.

New front and back brake pads, plus new hardware. NEw spark plugs and an oil change. Also almost got stuck in a mud hole due to my 4wd not working!

Don't know exactly.. got them from a guy on craigslist.. they were originally made for a cj.. he had the mounting arms cut and rewelded for a yj.. they were supposed to bolt on but I would've had to relocate the gas and brake lines to drill holes through the frame so I decided to have them welded on.. I think he said they were road armor but there was no mfg stamp on them

New to me Jeep. Replaced the battery the day I brought it home. Job one is changing every fluid that can be easily changed. Other wear parts will get inspected, but I want to know exactly when every fluid was last changed.

Tonight....

-Flushed the crankcase and changed oil/filter. Added detergent additive and will change the oil again in 500-1K miles. I want to see what I can clean out of the engine.

-Pulled upper radiator hose and water outlet in prep for replacing lower hose. I'm doing one, might as well do them both. Now, has anybody seen my putty knife so I can get the rest of this darn gasket off the water outlet?

PO advertised the jeep as having a coolant leak. He ID'd it as a leak at the lower radiator hose to water pump fitting and I can see it leaking out past the clamp. Just a spring clamp instead of a proper screw down hose clamp. It doesn't look like much fun to get the spring clamp out so I'll be waiting until daylight for that one.

I change all my fluids on a regular basis. But I have never changed the power steering pump fluid. Today I got one of those pumps that you use to pump fluid out of a large jug and pumped the power steering fluid out and replaced it. Never heard of power steering fluid change, but heck it has to be better to change than not change.

Deer damage just means you need a bigger bumper and brush guard.

5 tire rotation, drove in the rain, welded the studs on my tire carrier. They were rusty and broke loose a while back so i had them tacked to hold a tire. Fully welded now.

I was asking Tarby, but I guess I chimed in on the wrong post. It's okay, though, I don't need to know anymore b/c I'm looking at some mean rocker panels.

Going to pick-up an 8.8 for the YJ today. Should have it set up with SOA perches, Shock mounts, 4.56s and an ARB by tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have time to hang it. Only so many hours in a day.

Where did you get you shock mounts for the 8.8? I need some but I'm not doing SOA if that matters. I don't think m.o.r.e sells them anymore.
