This took place two nights ago and continued into the morning, but damn... I changed the oil pump, oil pan gasket, and starter. Then found that my sending unit was leaking. Got that fixed. There's always something with as YJ but I love her.

Changed out my Roller Fairlead to a Metal Hawse Fairlead (warn 73850) It cleaned up the front and I like the slimmer, cleaner look with it. And I can run a front license plate again.

Made a new bumper, after bending the crap out of the stock one. It's 1/2 angle steel. I also installed the lights on the grill. All I have to do is cover in bed liner..

You're only supposed to use synthetic line with a hawse fairlead.

If you are using synthetic line then Yes, you use an Aluminum Hawse Fairlead, This is a cast Steel Hawse Fairlead made for either synthetic or cable. Weighs in at like 9 pounds.

I got mine from V-LEDs.com. They have pretty good prices. Got my whole kit for about ten bucks.

Removed my hardtop for the season (Take a look at my thread on building a hardtop dolly for $9)

Installed a new Bestop trailmax "fold and tumble" rear seat. My kids are big enough that they need a seat with headrests for me to be comfortable with them riding in the Jeep (Link to Sale Thread for old seat)

Installed new padded rollcage covers. Only the bars over the drivers and passengers heads were covered before.

Installed a few grab handles.

Here's a picture:

Jeep was overheating, upper radiator hose not hot when engine was so decided id take that to mean tstat was stuck closed...drained coolant (I like to cut the end off a 2L bottle and turn it upside down into Gallon jugs, nice an neat )..theres only two bolts that hold the housing an of course one had to be corrosion welded in an the head twisted of....pulled the fan shroud out to clear the way for drill an took a hole up to size in 3 steps...drilled only as far as the block at first freeing the housing an then ever so carefully into the block...tapped...installed fail safe tstat...threw a new grade 5 in an will be firing up in the morning after rtv has fully cured (parts store didnt have gasket)

Nothing too fancy today, just replaced my air intake hose and fan clutch. Radiator and water pump are next on the list.

What I did to my YJ today

Got the pilot bearing out. I rented a slide hammer and pilot bearing removal attachment from Autozone. Had to tear up the inner pipe of the bearing so the removal tool would fit. Worked like a dream, got it out with a few hits. Here's the old bearing. Well, what's left of it anyways.
