Good choice of bed liner! Just did mine last week and super happy with the results so far.

Dear slush-box YJ owners,
My trans is leaking out of the bell-housing/pump area. I recently did work on the tailshaft area, but didn't mess with anything up front. I refilled the trans with new fluid once I was done working. No idea why it's doing this. Someone suggested over-full, but I only filled it to the full mark on the dipstick (while at operating temperature and in neutral, per the manual).

Any ideas??

Did you work on the transmission or transfer case? Because they each have their own fluid capacity, so of you filled the transmission and not the tcase then it could be over filled

I did work on both, but re-filled them seperately.

**Edit** Friend on another thread tells me I'm overheating the fluid. That's probably not far off.

Yep, that's what I'm going to try first. Add the extra cooler and then filler up again and see what happens. I fear I may have fried the seals in the pump...which means tearing it down again. But I hope not.

On the bright side. It's cheaper for a new tranny and clutch on a yj than it is in almost anything else!!

Hit a pipe sticking up out of the ground in the middle of the woods. It was firmly there and about as sturdy as a tree but only 3ft tall or less. Destroyed tie rod and leaf spring. Will fix it starting tomorrow gathering parts.

What is the deal with those? I am SOA but never looked into waggy springs. I am assuming I would keep my traction bar in the rear? What years fit? Would I need to modify them at all? I will be buying springs tomorrow now so if i can upgrade I will. How is the flex?

I'd say the flex is pretty darn good..

76 and up wagoneer/grand wagoneer/2 dr wagoneer aka cherokee (not xj) front springs. Ideally you want the 7 leaf packs, fronts only. They give roughly 2 inches more of lift, and are an inch longer than yj springs and have an inch offset centering pin. If you mount them in the same orientation they came off the wagoneer in they just push a little forward on your shackle, mount them backward of how they came out and you get a 2 inch stretch of wheel base. No need to modify anything. You can remove a leaf or two from the packs you put in the rear to level it out a bit too

Best part, i can get them for 13 bucks per leaf pack..

I haven't bent them yet, i don't have an anti wrap bar in the rear and don't get any wheel hop or excessive pinion roll, but if i bent them who cares, i can redo all my springs for less than you can buy one new stock yj pack for..

Yeah, no more lift for me right now though. I am already hitting every single branch going through the trails around here. I cant wait to rip out this body lift so I am 3" lower. I already have the Rubicon add a leafs on their way too. I tracked them just now and they are supposed to arrive today. Plus this is my daily driver to SOA is as high as a want it. Thanks for the info though.
