Installed new seats to me today. Gotta love craigslists, king ranch camel color leather $100. Of course installing involved plasma cutting plates to weld seats to,but all in all they look good and were cheap.

Replaced my old, torn soft top with another old been in storage for 14 years. I really hated to see the black top go but the spice looks nice on the blue Jeep too.

Did that jack do it? I stuck mine on my hood only because I need it all the time and was scared of that happening if I kept it in the back. People look at me funny since I live in the city.

Sorry but I know nothing about fabrication, could you maybe do a write up on this? Or pm me and I'll send you my phone number and send me pics of the piece you fabricated?

Talking OK here is my update for the last 5 days

Thursday: went to JPI in Yucipa and had my 2" BDS lift installed, very nice and great people!

Friday: went to PVD and did the South Park Canyon run, man has there been a LOT of rain thru there and the road was torn up, but we all got thru it without any issues.

Saturday: back to PVD and we did the Backway to Darwin. Funny thing, as we were airing down here comes a brand new Camero and the driver asks us if he can make it to the parking area? We tell him it might not be a good idea but he continues on anyway, oh well it's his car.

Sunday: took care of my sick wife, installed my new Coverking seat covers, and changed the oil and filter.

Monday: Went to Dirt Worx and picked up my new rear bumper with tow points and a tow hitch, swing out spare tire carrier, 2 jerry can mounts, and a high lift jack mount. Woo hoo can't wait to get it prepped and painted. It looks great and all for $498.00.

Well there you, it was a busy weekend but well worth it!

Put on new windshield wiper blades and Rainex'd the areas the wipers don't wipe. Made a huge difference in visibility! I also bought a roll of clear tape to patch the 14" slice someone put in my driver window last night.

I have 33"s and a 1989 I-6, stock gears in the axles with the old p-crap tranny and my YJ is still rolling strong after 30k miles or so (since installing the 33s)... Initially i figured id let the tranny die before I made a swap but shes surprised me so far... Never had a tranny or clutch issue and got in an accident and I've even taken her wheeling (with a full load at the whole time) few times this year...

After the nutter bypass and team rush I get about 18 MPG (average city and highway) and top out around 80-90 ("pushing hard" as the last guy put it)...

I run 33's with an ax5 and stock gears (4.10). Runs comfortably at 60, can push to 70.

Wheelin 33s on my 89 2.5, ax-5 and all the stories out there have wondering how long I will get away with my setup. I keep reading the 8.8 swaps with interest and the tranny swap would happpen at the same time. So far I have babied it and have only made two trips out of town here in the desert. Still haven't had to lock the front axle in at all except playing in the local pits for an ops check after the posi lock install. So I have just barely broken in the new engine (about 600 miles so far) I built and all the rest of the parts. Still working a wind noise issue with the hardtop and T-Case leak (drip) but I haven't had to open a tool box except in the garage.

Linkage hell

messing around with my wipers on my 94 YJ and screwed up the nylon bushing connecting the wiper motor to the linkage. trying to find just the bushing is akin to poking my eye with hot needles. been to a couple junkyards but the few wranglers there have been picked clean like a dead carcass in the desert. NOT spending close to $50 online for the whole linkage arm. (not yet anyway) what a pain in the ass

on a side note... if I had a cherokee, my god the junkyard is full of them, just an observation

Starting to have a lot go wrong with my jeep and no funds to fix it... Heater core, rear main. Something with my transmission (again), rear end, still need to get the transfercase and new driveshaft in

From what I understand, a LOT!

I have always felt that some people are like rats, if they can't have something they crap on it. Makes me sick.

Agreed! It definitely put a bad taste in my mouth.

Definitely worth it! I've done a few back when I was a Ranger guy. They're pretty easy to find with 4.10's and LS. Make sure to get 96+ so you get the rear disc. And make sure it's out of the Explorer, and not the Ranger. Sploders have 31 splines and rangers have 28. Fun project too!

I've owned 2 YJ's, both have been all stock suspension and tires. When I look at other jeeps that are lifted I think, "I'll bet that would make my jeep look nice". Well, I installed a 2.5" suspension lift and 31" tires today and I can say that I was wrong. It definitely does not look "nice". It's freaking awesome! I've given my YJ new life and a new look and I love it all over again!

Painted my wheels flat black... Word of advice DO NOT TRY TO USE THE VHT WHEEL PAINT. IT WILL NOT HOLD.. I ended up using 1 1/2 cans of good olé rustoleum.. Turned out pretty good I think.. By the time I finished it was dark. I'll take some better pics later..

I have a 95 2.5 with an AX15 I swapped in and an 8.8. I honestly take it in the woods and beat the living hell out of it. I monstalined it so it wouldnt look like I do, but I do. I make my own trails running over small trees, I drive through and over crap that it looks like no one has ever tried, and the thing still hasnt let me down. 90% of the time I am in low with 2nd gear. The weakest link I have found is my double cardan shaft, it is in the shop getting a new head welded on now, this will be the third in 5 months and about 30 hours of wheeling. I will be putting 33's on, but possibly might do 32's. About 1/2 of the highway around here is 65mph so everyone drives 75. I just need to be able to do 65 at least. Tough decision since it is my daily driver, but I also beat the crap out of it and need the extra traction in the woods.
