It's rediculious. I usually keep my YJ locked, but I have a hard top. If it's off, then the doors stay unlocked and the windows down (if they're even on). The J-truck's locks don't even work - but I really don't care. Nothing of value in it (other than my jumper pack, I suppose), plus I'd doubt they could figure out my choke and deadman's stitches and what-not... Even so - who would want to steal a 40 year old truck?

not worried about anyone stealing your jtruck.....wanna trade for a beat up yj---lol...,,,that would be one of the only things i would ever trade mine for..

same here about leaving nothing of value in my jeep, hell i dont even have a sterio in it,,

learned my leason a few years back when replaced my window 3 times from thieving aholes stealing my radio, then my cb,then they tried taking the whole truck with my race bike in it.everytime was the next day of haveing my window replaced.
i then just cut out a peice of cardboard for a window--never had another problem,,all
thats when i had moved to columbus ohio for a job,,lived up there for 15yrs and hated it was happy to move back to good ole kentucky...

and yes happy to be rust free---lol

I am a professional photographer. Just went to take some interior pics - and the rear bench is still on the floor of the garage. I dont have a camera here. Son of a.

I will take some later. It is really good stuff. Totally changed the look of the jeep. I shot the wheels with the Duplicor wheel paint and it has held up really well too. This weekend I will be monstalining the tub. I do not know what color my jeep is. Basically, its OD green - but metallic. They used in on Saharas a lot. So I got the OD green from Monstaliner. I started thinking that too much black would make it like sitting in a cave.

Hahaha! I'd say yes - IF I didn't already have a YJ (BY FAR my favorite of all the "Wrangler" styles) that I poured a TON of money into... Even so, I'd probably sell your YJ and get another J-truck with the money.
... And you probably wouldn't want my J-truck. It looks "good" from the outside but the interior is shot. None of my gauges work, cab seals leak (except the door which I JUST put in new weatherstripping and wipes), etc... I only bought this particular one (would've still bought a J-truck no matter what) because I love the early models, the body has barely any surface rust and the engine only had about 300 miles (a rebuilt 360 V-8) on it when I got it... But I LOVE this friggin' truck. I'm gonna' run it into the ground and fix it up over and over and over until (or a big IF) America decides to make "historic" vehicles illegal to drive (it's happened in other countries). - Plan on doing the same thing with my YJ.

And what I'm GOING to be doing for my YJ today:
I'm going to be calling my Dad's buddy with a paint booth and see when I can get it in so I can plan when to start tearing down the front end, replace my fenders (already have the new ones) and then get it in to have the whole front end re-painted.

Haha! I searched my @$$ off for months for this one. It was the closest one to me (Iowa) in the best condition and I had to have it hauled from Ohio... Then a month after I got it one popped up here IN TOWN. Newer (it was a 79 and mine is a 73), in slightly better condition AND about $1000 cheaper! Funny how that happens.

Though I guess it was a 1/2ton (mine is a 3/4ton), a short bed (mine is a long bed), automatic tranny (i hate autos) and had an original I-6 in it (as i said - mine is a rebuilt 360 v-8)... So I may have won out in the end. Haha!

Last night I polished the gauge cluster lens and this morning I reinstalled the gauge cluster so I could drive to work. It was nice to have a working temperature gauge and to be able to actually see it.

Well it was Sunday afternoon but I finished the rear bumper install, everything but the jerry can mounts which BTW are getting hard to find at a decent price.

Oh I found some reproductions on 4WD.com for $175.00!!! Are you freaking kidding me???? Needless to say I got them somewhere else for a whole lot less.

Here are the before and after of the black paint from Duplicolor. Its the vinyl/fabric paint that I used.

Now, if I can just figure out what the exterior color is called so I can get some touch up paint.

Yep, I went and got it yesterday around 2 o'clock.. I had to finish it myself.. I had it done before dark.. For the life of me, I cannot believe that it took them so freaking long to do what they did..

Good luck with your ride buddy.. I hope they can fix it for you, and get it back to you sometime before the end of the world 12/21/12

Murphy's Law.. What can go wrong, will go wrong..

Hopefully you get her back, and she runs like a scared deer.. I must say, after all the crap I delt with the past week, and even though I had to finish what the shop started. My jeep runs 10x better than it did when I took it in. And that, in the end, is all that matters.. Im back on the road, and getting the "Im jealous of that guy" looks.

I stopped at a gas station this morning on the way to the office, and some guy offered me 3000 on the spot for it.. No thanks.
