If I thought I could do my 2.5" lift in 4 hours, I would break out the tools after work tonight.
But all the horror stories I have heard, I am blocking off an entire weekend, come Spring time.

As long as you have the right tools, a grinder with some cutting disks, and bolts to replace the ones you pull out, 4 hours is kinda long. I also am used to air tools though. Impact gun makes things pretty easy.

I gave mine a wash/underbody rinse today to try and get as much salt off as possible. Don't want my nice clean YJ to get eaten by salt.

Also, I'm assembling plans for a lift and trans rebuild. Going to likely pull the trigger soon.

bumper

today we worked on the front bumper. we built a new front and rear bumper for my son's 1990 jeep wrangler we are in the process of painting it . we have been waitin on a guy to bend us a u shape for the front bumper but we found a guy that had some pipe 2 3/8 od sch40 black steel so we got it for 10.00 and cut it down to size welded it in place had to lean it out forward so we can get the winch in and out of the hitch.

Ordered a 2 inch BDS lift during class. Need to wait for it to get in (no details on that yet) then install it during my spring break in mid March.

Ordered Hi-lift mounts for the hood hinges, a new "Jeep" hitch cover (the "new" style), and those new fancy Quadratec floor mats.
I don't know why but when we re-built my YJ we sealed up all of the plug holes in the tub - perminantly... So I'm definitely in need of some hardcore floor mats.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to get a decent amount of stuff done, so hopefully you'll be getting an update from me soon! Gonna' FINALLY have a spare tire on my Jeep!!

LOL. I actually drilled like two or three holes under each floor mat and bolted them down to stop them from sliding around on the bedliner. works great for a drain I dont need to screw with anymore.

Hmm... I like it!
I'll have to keep that in mind when I finally get around to pulling carpet and monstalining her! That'll be a ways off though. Got plenty of stuff to do to both the YJ and J-truck before I worry about my YJs tub. It's overkill Undercoated from when I repainted it so now all that's left is the interior to be protected!

Changed out the vehicle fluids, transmission, oil, front and rear differentials. I'm having a bitch of a time getting the fill nut off the transfer case, still working on that. Time to get out the impact tools.

Also put on a performance distributor and cap.

Oh, I know...I stopped using the hand tools once I started sliding off. I have been soaking that thing for days...gonna take it out tomorrow, warm up the oil and try it again with the air tools.

I believe they are out of a 2000 VW Passat. Picked them up through Craig's list. I will have you weld them in.

I took my grinder to the socket I use for those TC nuts. They are so skinny the 6 point socket I was using would not sit flush enough, so I grinded it flat and now it is a piece of cake.

Good idea. I was able to loosen the drain plug with no issues, but I don't want to drain it out unless I can get the filler plug off first. I'm thinking it was low and the nut seized on there. I'm hoping the air tools that ill take to it tonight will do the trick. Fingers crossed I don't bust that off....grrrrr

Hello feloow jeepers, I had a question: Is it possible to check on my Tcase's chain/belt without having to take it out. The reason is that my Tcase isn't working like it should, the front diff. is not engaging at all. So I'm thinking my Tcase's chain/belt is either broken or it slipt out?? IDK haha

One last thing if I were to open it and the oil comes out, what oil does it need? and how much.

Thanks Peeps

Check and see if your front drive shaft turns when you put the transfer case in 4 high. If it is locked in 4 wd, then your problem is in your front axle, not the transfer case.

Caught myself (hand) with a 11/32 drill bit in the process... Was only a block from the local ER... But decided to just patch it with paper towels and electrical tape - best bandaid there is!

See that purple part in there? ... Yeah... Thats a vein. watched it "beat" with my heart until the wound filled with blood, then decided I should patch myself up. Haha!
