Sick! Is that all metal then? How much did it run you?
I've been thinking about/wanting to have one made that's EXACTLY like the original dash - but metal...

It IS bad@$$! I'm thinking about a 5.3L swap as well in the future. I keep flip-flopping between wanting a V8 or just settling with a 4.3L V6...

Put an electrical fuel pump on her to help maintain fuel pressure once she gets hot.... we'll see if it works today.

Tore it apart more yesterday. All that remains inside is the peddles, the heater unit, and the rollbar:

Fixed my four wheel drive today! YAY! Thought it was a broken fork cuz the drive shaft would spin when in four wheel drive, but the front tires wornt turning. So i took the shift motor off of front axle howsing, and come to find out the fork is fine, and come to find out the vacuum lines were mixed up But didnt cost me any money to fix it YAY!

But the good thing is the four-wheel drive is working know, YAY!

Takes a few days of work, and totally free doing it yourself so long as you have the tools to do it. Like I said I only need to remove the rollbar, pedals, and HVAC and the interior is completely out.

Only thing left to do from there is pull the engine, tranny, and t-case, remove the body, then suspension and axles, and it's basically 100% apart. A typical 8x10x10 shed can hold everything but the tub, frame, and axles if you need to store for a long term (like I will need to do).

Luckily, mine is nearly rust free and has come apart rather easily

took my doors off today finally starting to get nice out. but i have a few questions for you jeepers
1.) i want to clean the vents on the top of the dash(if i put my finger deep inside it comes back black) do i have to remove the dash to remove those?

2.) i got a pretty bad axle leak front driver side after removing them to do ball joints, when i turn sometime i get a grinding noise almost like rotor is scraping something. i got home and checked dust shield, pads and all that looks good and topped off the diff. and it still hasnt stopped. is some seal or something internally causing it in the axle?[i tightened up my steering box only a 1/4 turn yesterday, could that be causing the noise]

3.) do you guys recommend doing just axle seal or anything else why im at it?
thanks appreciate all feedback

If you wheel it do a solid axle swap and greasable axle tube seals. Should cost you less than $100 to do both

Bought a dlink hitch at harbor freight for $10. Says it's rated for 10000lbs so if it can handle 1/2 that, it's still ok.

Good luck with that. Keep that in mind if you really are depending on it for something...
