Bought this:

Going to drive it for a week or two to ensure the CEL doesn't come back on from any codes the PO may have cleared out. Then it's time to strip the engine and harness out of it and begin transplanting into my YJ. It's a 1996 (OBDII ) and the 5.2L

Replaced oil pressure sensor. Now longer leaking oil and my gauge works. Now time to figure out my starter system issue

Due to weather, this took me a few days (was able to finish the front before the storm hit) but I just removed my track bars, my sway bar was already disconnected, so I removed it for good, and I installed a BDS 2" lift kit with 1" lift Zone boomerang shackles front and rear.

Will have flexy pics this weekend.
For now, I can tell you that I gained about 4" of lift and the ride is super plush. It feels like my old Chrysler LeBaron.

I was thinking on getting soft top but I'm not sure on the frame I have hard top only and been looking at the best top and the rampage. Do they come with the locks for the windshield part? And does yours have full doors? If so how is yours working for you?
Thanks.

Check out softopper. Comes with everything and will work with hard doors.

Not yet. I intend to get one this summer. I have read a lot of reviews and seen one on a TJ and think they look great.

BTW, I have a factory replacement Bestop.

I SOMEHOW snapped a red Honda hatchback off the line. I was ahead of him until I got to 3rd gear (Plus I didn't want to go too far over the speed limit).

While I was on my way home from Lowes, HE pulled up next to me and kept reving his engine until I looked over - then did it a few more times staring right at me. In my head I'm saying: "What an idiot... REALLY?! A hatchback vs. a YJ?!" but I revved hack at him just for fun and when the light turned green we both took off.

I think he was p!$$ed I beat him off the line because when I started slowing down he TOOK OFF.

Agreed! I would've been laughing at him if I hadn't been so shocked at what happened.

People in this town are idiots though... When my buddy and I are riding around in his Ford Aspire people try racing us all the time. His exhaust is cracked so it makes his car sounds like it's tuned up.

At the beginning of the week we had some j@ck@$$ in a 1990's Comaro try to race us - we didn't and just gave him the "what the h3ll are you thinking" look so he peeled out and flipped us off when the light turned green. REALLY?!

It's the same everywhere. I beat some little civic on the way home the other night, and I'm turning 33's on my Cherokee granted it was downhill and I had the weight advantage lol

That's hilarious! I've got 33's on my YJ as well. Downhill... Uphill... Either way - you're in a JEEP... Too bad it wasn't for pinks - then you could've had some more Jeep money!

Since I managed to kill my Taurus Electric fan with mud in 2 wheeling trips, I got the Mark 8 fan that is supposed to be a bit stronger and covered it in steel screen 1/8" mesh. Hopefully that gives this one some protection.

Usually there is a support rod that the window slides into, which allows the tailgate to seal as well.

Search the forum for "folding down soft top". It gives good instructions.

On the inside of the window, at the bottom, there is a plastic tube slid into the fabric loop. Slide the fabric and plastc tubing into the slotted round part with the rubber edge hanging down for the tailgate to seal too. Then put each end of it in the brackets your picture shows next to the tailgate opening. zip down the side zippers and then slide the small tabs on each side of the window fabric(there is a peice of hard plastic about 3/4' sewn into the tabs underneath). Shut the tailgate and your done.

Just make sure the puffy rubber section is facing the tail gate and centered in the tailgate opening. Should go completely from one side to the other.

Bought and installed a new Smittybilt rear Classic Rock Crawler bumper. 4WD.com has them on sale for $99.99 and free shipping till the end of April. Reg. Retail price was $159.99

After searching high and low for rear bumpers, this is the only bumper with a Class III rated receiver hitch I could find, and didn't know it was till I opened the box. The advertisement stated "Not Tow Rated", but right on top of the receiver tube is a plate stating Class III 500 lb. Tongue Weight, 5000lb. GVW. It has a 1/4 inch mounting plate the goes from one end of the rear frame section to the other. Total of 8 bolts, 4 per side with backing plates for the frame and has 4 mounting holes on the bottom, two are are direct fit and screw directly into the lower factory mount holes, then there are two provisional holes that can be drilled through the frame and two additional bolts can be utilized for additional strength.

I also, welded the ends and bottom of the mounting plate directly to the frame. LOL wanted to make sure I didnt loose my harley and bike trailer. Going to do some more welding on the top of the mounting plate as well when I install my new poly body mount bushings this coming week.

I would highly recommend this as a great rear bumper for those who need a usable tow hitch. Very well built and heavy plate was used in the manufacturing of the bumper. This model that is currently on sale comes without the Clevis mounts, but with a 5000GVW tow rating, it should be no problem using a receiver hitch mounted D-Ring for recovery purposes.

Smittybilt Part 76750 - Classic Rock Crawler Rear Bumper

This is the new front bumper I installed last week. Its begging for a winch, I actually hear begging in my sleep..lol,,So, I ordered a XRC 8,000 lb. winch and winch cover, that the UPS driver should be bringing me Monday. Will be a long weekend waiting for that winch .. lol Next is a CB install and two more lights for the grille guard mounts, new High lift Jack and roll cage mounts, and a matching spare tire and wheel.
