Was really easy to install. But my bumper had the winch mount and fairlead mount built in. So it was just a matter of bolting on the winch and Fairlead, the hooking up the wires. I did get two boxes with my shipment, I managed to get a free XRC winch cover out of quadratec too. and free ship too.

Seems to be a good winch to me, kind of wish i had gotten the Comp series, but got both the winch and cover for 299.99 shipped to my door. So it was hard to pass up.

I was looking at another post today, where the guy took the control box and mounted it under the hood, high up on the Grille frame next to the radiator. I liked the idea, as it would keep a lot of mud and debris from getting into the box and keep water out of it as long as the hood wasn't submerged anyway ...lol. The bottom of the control box is wide open, so that explained to me why they sell new control boxes separately. I bet the X20 model, which is submersible, has a sealed control box. So, that might be something you might want to think about, as I am sure being in WV, you will be playing in some mud holes quite often, like it is here in Ky.

Killer deal brother. I have the front and rear bumpers (with tire carrier) being delivered Monday. The front has the built in winch plate, so hopefully the install goes smoothly.

I got what I think is a fair deal from Zack on this forum with ExtremeTerrain.com I got the xrc8 comp series (synthetic rope) for $422 with free shipping after the forum member discount. He's a really good dude, look him up sometime if you're buying more stuff.

Cool, thanks. I will do that. That is the cheapest I have seen anyone get the Comp Series, usually at least 449. Good deal. You spent some cash then with both bumpers, tire rack, and comp series winch too. I didnt get the tire carrier, just the classic rock crawler rear bumper with the receiver hitch. But I got it for 99.99/free ship through 4wd hardware. Got the front bumper for $229/free ship. So I've got less than $650 in all of it.

Might get with him, when I am ready to get a lift kit and tires. Going to stay with the 2.5 inches lift its got for now and the 31's, since the tires are in good shape still. Then later go 4 inch lift kit and 33 Thornbirds. I had a set of 33 thornbirds on my old S10 and loved them for dual purpose off road and street driving.

Just bolt your winch on the bumper first, it will make it much easier than trying to get the bolts in the winch on a mounted bumper, because the winch mounting bolts come up thru from the bottom.

Recently replaced the crankcase vent tube, it was halved. Replaced the radiator to resolve some intermittent overheating. Put a cb in there, wired it into the 12v cigarette lighter after I removed it and mounted the other there. 6"x9" speakers in the back, once I removed those worn out dash speakers.

Mud in WV???? No way! Lol. I've heard it is very beneficial to bolt up the winch before mounting the bumper.

Yes, I did drop a decent amount of cash on my setup, but it came at a price. I sold my Harley due to a new addition to the family, so the wife let me spend a little on my other toy.

Well she is a great Wife then, gave you a child and let you spend some money on your toy, thats a real good Wife. Hate to hear you sold your bike. I have my late fathers 2000 Ultra Classic(first year of the Fuel Injection) and his Excalibur enclosed fiberglass bike trailer, so selling it is not an option for me. My brother got his first bike, I got the second and last one he bought.

Yes, definitely mount that winch first, but my winch is 85 lbs., so yours is going to be a little less in weight due to Comp series rope, instead of the wire rope I got. But, you will probably need a good bike jack or a friend to help with holding the bumper while starting the bolts. I used my bike jack and it worked great to mount the bumper, but I had to do the winch the hard way. Thank God for swivel sockets, extensions, and flexible head ratchets... lol

Well post some pics after you get it mounted, would love to see it. Have a good one.

I pulled my swing out tire carrier to find the reason why it was so hard to move... found it! LOL

I've also done some fender trimming. Not trying to make it pretty, just better than before (and more functional)

I can't wait to get rid of the body lift and those shackles

I'm not sure of the brand. It was put on by PO. I do know that when I get the new bearings, I'm going to add a grease fitting. This one didn't have one at all.

if anyone has a second and can find me the right part, that would be much appreciated
my d30 is leaking front driver side axle. im guessing its the outer axle seal, can someone find the right one on advanceauto for me and reply with the part number. i dont know on the website what they mean by d30 reverse seal, left, etc. but is it worth doing both left and right ones now or just the one that is leaking? all bolts are good since i just removed axles to do balljoints.
