Just wondering, how do you plan on putting gas in? Did you modify the license plate mount?

Any ideas on how I could have modified the plate mount? Odd as it sounds, the fold down license plate mount is one of my fav things about the Yj!

I was the gong of some how making the license plate slide out. Can't think of a way to keep the fold down plate.

Officially snapped my frame. Shifted about and inch up in front of the steering box. Still got me home from wheeling an around town before I noticed.

Anyone know how to splice into stock turn signal wiring right from the column? Put a 5.3 in, stock harness is out, just need to know which wires to use from the column, been trying to ohm it out for paths, not much luck

Why not just swing the tire out when putting gas in? Or is the tag not in view for the local policia?

Police aren't really my worry. But where the carrier latches prevents my tag from swinging down to refuel.

Getting ready to take her wheelin this coming weekend. Started saturday looking for a place to mount my CB, then decided to take the AC out of it (which had lost it's charge), spent the day doing that and found the leak near the radiator coupling. Oh well, I prefer the "top off" AC anyway.
...then finally I fabbed a CB mount to install under the dash, now gotta get that mounted. One thing always leads to something else....
Jeepers, this is fun!

Mine does the same thing, but I was able to cut one corner of my tag and make it clear. Before that i was just unlatching my carrier and swinging it out of the way. A little bit of a hassle, but it also made gas harder to steal!

Even if I unlatch the carrier and swing it away, the plate that the carrier hooks to is still in the way. It's welded to the top of the rear bumper. Any other suggestions??? I would LOVE to make this work!!!

Thanks for the pics, it really helps! To me it looks like a relocation of your plate to the spare is the only way to go.

Is the latch some sort of 1/4 turn lock?

Yeah, it's a quarter turn lock. And the relocation of my plate is all I can think of too. Thanks for your help!

No problem!

On my Dirtworx rear bumper I have to open the spare tire swing so i can fill up, kind of a pain but it keeps the kids from messing with my gas cap. It came with a bolt with a rod welded to the top to form a "T" so you can open/close it by hand but I replaced it with a bolt and use a big wrench to tighten it down.

Can you add the tire carrier to the bumper? If so, do you have to cut and weld on that bumper to add the carrier? Also, what tail light conversion kit did you use?

I really like your lights! So your tire carrier will not interfere with your license plate???? Lucky you! I've been battling mine! Lol. I might have to look into those tail lights
