I'm not sure if you've already said or not but, what are you using to paint you top and windows with? It's looking awesome.

Dupli Dye I bought it at Autozone for $7.49. I'm pretty sure that's what it was but I plan on post the link/information in my build thread later today. Anyway, it's made for Vinyl, seats, center consoles and just about everything. It REALLY does work into the fabric and they have quite a few different colors for interior and exterior. Just depending on what you want to dye, you might need a few spray cans and masking type.

Colored pool noodles from Walmart ?

Why not just grayish black pipe insulation from Lowe's ?

Yesterday the wife thought she'd surprise me by swapping out the shift knobs before I got home from work. She broke the threaded top of the shift lever, so today I got to rig a cheap fix.

I got a 3/8X16X12" threaded rod, a new 11/32" drill bit (had one already but figured I'd dull it by drill 3 inches into metal), and some epoxy. About $15 at Home Depot. I drilled about 3 inches into the shift lever. The wife ground the threads on about 3 inches of the rod. I added another 1 1/2 inches for the shift knob and cut the rest.

Put epoxy on the grounded end and tapped into the hole I drilled. Let that set up about 20 minutes then installed the new knob. All in all just a minor inconvenience, but the new knobs look good.

Thanks to other posts I was able to swap out the transfer case knob without a problem.

I also got a brake tag today so I'm all legal; well for Louisiana at least.

Added a leaf from my old spring pack to my installed rear springs. Gained an 1.5 in. of lift and increased load bearing capability. Happy Jeeper!

I created a hi-lift mount in the back using two spare tire bumpers from a wrecked '91yj and some all thread.

Come on. What's a couple of tire bumpers? And a seat bracket? And a MAP sensor? And drivers seat belt? And rear seat belts? And gear shift knob?

It's always easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission, am I right?
