I finally made the 33" tire jump, and really happy on how they perform on and off the road.
I feel pretty fortunate to have found this 93' YJ with only 20,000 miles on it and in showroom condition! Now I finally have it just how I want it. ;-)

Where to start?
I rewired the back-up and brake light wiring. PO had some crazy routes with it resting on the exhaust, over the drive shaft and over the gas tank. Surprised it lasted as long as it did.
A few weeks ago I installed my Father's Day gift of a center console. Today I installed the radio in it, with 2 new marine speakers in the dash. It's getting there.
Now I need a new dash. It about fell apart from all the rust. I'm thinking Christmas present!? AAHH, the joys of being a Jeep owner.

yeah man 20k is great, i found my 94 with only 80k which i thought was impressive...

I dropped my PO's custom lift yesterday, changed all 4 shocks and sorted out my wayyyy extreme axle shaft angle... cleaned all the injectors and fuel lines and fixed a small hole in my tank... she cranks straight up and feels alot better with new shock and being a little lower.

Oh and changed my new 33´s for some new 31´s until i get a proper lift kit! Pics to come

I cleaned my Jeep from all the dust. Actually kids had fun using the air hose to blow all the dust out of it. Had a great time wheeling yesterday though!

Well I've been away for an extended week end. Last thursday finished putting the soft top on. Put a few stickers on. Then fought with the brake light issue I had/ have/ had/ ok I guess now it's have again. Left brake light is out. tail and directional work fine just no brake light. So I took apart cleaned all connections checked ground etc. A friend had the idea of running a jumper wire. Ok that worked except the wire also ran the directional so turn on right directional and both lights would blink. Ok scap that plan. Change bulb now left side works and right side doesnt. Then chase the short through the harness. Seems to be in the directional switch. Ok too much to do before I left on a weekend up in New hampshire at the beach. I'll deal with it when I get back. I figure I'd change the light again and see what happens. Well that seemed to fix everything. At least for a day or two now its out again.

After all of the that though I took it up to New Hampshire for the weekend and it did fine. No issues, handled a little bit of hiway with little wobble and started everytime I turned the key. All in all a pretty good weekend. Even got to drive up the coast without the top.

Pulled my clutch to replace it. I could really tell it needed it from the way it jumped and made lots of noise.. This is what I found and then after this, I found that it's the least of my worries anyone got a spare AX-15? lol

the PO had it "rebuilt" and it started acting up before this last winter and I haven't had the time or money to even look into it so it's been sitting in my garage ever since. So Monday I got my clutch, thinking it was the only problem. Went looking further into why it was making a loud noise and found that it was coming from the tranny. Pulled it apart and a gear had worn into one of the metal shafts. I also found two small chunks of metal in there from the previous rebuild. I also discovered a hole where they over tightened the gear case back to the tranny then they decided to fill it with silicone....

Just makes you want to wack the PO up side the head don't it?

I am working on my rear brakes right now and the D35 is supposed to have drums that are 1 3/4" wide and mine are 2 1/2", WTF!!!! And neither drum look the same and the shoes on each side are a different size, again WTF!!

Oh well when I'm done it will be 100% right!

POs = I'm sure that that almost all of us have spent countless hours and $ fixing other peoples mistakes. For instance the JB welded NP231 on mine

The best thing is the TJ axles u-joints are bigger and stronger then the YJ's so I will have a little stronger front end, not that my little 4 banger will stress them but you get the idea.
I hope your talking about the axle shafts. The TJ d30 is a low pinion if I'm not mistaken.

Sorry guys, I should have stated that it is just the shafts, not the entire axle.

So when I get this done, which won't be for a while, I will post up my Posi-lock in the For Sale section. I know someone could use it.
