Weekend Project/s

End of another weekend, got a few things done...
Got the winch mounted up
The aluminum diamond plate cut to match the tailgate and installed
Got the new LEDs mounted on the bumper and hood
Removed the 3" RC shackle lift and installed a 4" RC suspension lift
All in all not a bad weekend.
Next, nurf bars, move the mirrors to the windshield and move up to
33 x 12.5 tires... when these wear out

Last night I installed my Howell TBI. Runs so smooth and great response to throttle.

Only down fall is somewhere in completing everything and adding my check engine light. When I took it for a test drive all my gauges are dead except my right turn signal and engine light on panel.

Tach/temp/fuel/oil/battery. No worko. 😞

I welded up a pretty sweet foot peg so I can keep my foot in the wind while I drive. Mirror brackets are next.

What size do you have on there now?

I wanna move down from 33s when they wear out. Got a 4 cyl and stock axles, and don't really want to push it that hard.

and yeah, like the look you have

Thats a cool idea, but it seems like that thing would hold a ton of dirt that you wouldnt be able to get out.

Very professional design. Always wished I had learned to weld but I can appreciate those that did.

You could buy those for $150. Put them on CL immediately and probably turn a nice profit, depending if the tires hold air ext... Use the profit money towards a new set of 33s.

Over the weekend I installed new brakes on the rear end with all new parts. Drums, wheel cyclinders, shoes, small parts kit including the adjusters, etc. Now my brakes feel good again. No more mushy brakes all due to the brake material falling off the shoes on the passanger side!

It was not without a few hickups of course but got it done. I will tell you, if you put the adjuster in the wrong place on the shoes you can't for the life of you get the drum on! That and on the drivers side the fitting to the wheel cyclinder would not stop leaking fluid so I talked to my mechanic friend and he said "once you think you have it tight enough tighten even more" which I thought was nuts but hey it worked!

Time for a ride!

Where in the High Desert are you? I have the same Jeep; put the Howell on three years ago, and have all the Factory and Howell manuals. I'd be glad to help, if you need it, and I have a shop with a swamp cooler!

Shoot me a PM.

Installed a Warrior Mesh Breezer Bikini Top today. Although I'm usually topless the mid-day Florida sun can really roast you alive somedays. I'm very pleased with the Warrior product.

Been searching/asking no-stop for three days now about how to fix both my turn signals and hazards. If I can't figure this out I might have to go to a mechanic. :'(

That Jeep sure looks familiar. Now where have I seen an OD green YJ with an EGA on the front fender? I know I've seen one somewhere.

Nice Jeep, Florida! Semper Fi!

Thanks. For me it was was an entire lifetime ago. When I got back things were very different than they are today. That said, serving is still one of the greatest privileges of my life. Be safe Marine.

I feel it's not my place to ask where and when you served but I just want you to know I 100% appreciate your service and anyone else in the armed services reading my post.

Oh and if I can't get money for college I would be honored to even attempt to enlist in the Marines.

Jeep on!!!

My advice......... Go to college first. After you graduate if you are then looking for the ride of a lifetime think about enlisting in any of the branches. I promise the experience will round out your education, your life, and get you ready to go out into the world carrying a proud resume. Kind of like 'grad school' for men. And women . Almost makes me want to be young again
