Finally got my "new to me" soft top installed. Had a modified frame with missing parts so it wasn't easy getting it all together.

Removed the flares yesterday morning... paint was cracked and flaking when I bought it.

Stripped & painted them.

Re-installed them today. Painting the top (not a fan of Spice on Light Pearlstone) and side-steps to match will wait for another day.

I think my jeep is gorgeous and I'm always willing to consider any criticism or ideas that members might have to make it better. I think your whole package together perfectly except......ready ......... (and i have no dog in this hunt) but lose that puny D ring on the back. It doesn't fit the scheme and hangs there like a limp ........ but as I said I think she's one of the best

Finished the new soft top a few days ago after putting the new wheels on the week before. This weekend the new front bumper and Laredo bits get put on. If there's time I'll be converting the back seat to face rearward.

Haha thanks a lot. I don't keep that in there all the time. It's probably in there more than it should be but I use that when I go Offroad in case I need a rear connection for a tow. I doubt I'll ever get her stuck in the sand but its good to have in case. Actually taking the family on the beach today but I'm not using it since we need the hitch basket, but I do bring it just in case. Thanks for the compliments.

I am at this moment sitting in my yj waiting for my buddy to try and make it up the trail I am on with his jk listening to master of puppets. It is pitch black out and I have no top or doors whole covered in mud. Today is a good day. We have affectionately named this place jeephell.

OK anyone have a fan shroud for a 2.5 I could buy? I killed my 2nd electric fan in about 30 hours worth of trail time. I am going back to mechanical. Nothing is worse then looking at you temp gauge in the red with your coolant boiling in the woods. Made it home without any damage though. Just need the shroud to get it back on the road now.

First I kill the Taurus fan, then the Mark 8 fan. Apparently they dont hold up to mud for long.

Randomly the hose coming out of my gas tank (see pic) that connects to the fuel line decided to blow a big hole. Not sure why or how, probably age...

Anyway, I had to fix it "redneck" style. Used some old garden hose, small pipe clamps, and some electrical tape. Worked like a charm.

Wrapped the old hose tightly with the tape, disconnect the hose from the fuel line, slid the 4" piece of garden hose over the original hose, reconnected, and clamped down. I had my doubts if it would work. But it did.

Maybe try a JK electric cooling fan... my JKU's seems to be holding up fine after being submerged many times.

Cut the rust out of my floor pan and rocker panels. The passenger rocker was worse than I thought. Dropping it off at my friends shop tomorrow where she will sit for the next few weeks while I'm out at sea. Little by little she will get welded back together. When I come home she should be ready for some bedliner and rocker armor

Floor pan before

After

Gotta tell ya Bum you sure cant tell a book by its cover. Go know that floor pan is inside that gorgeous machine. Fred Flintstone would love that mod. Post pics when it's done and you get back from fishing

They would probably want $300 at least for one of those. Not to mention it would not be worth the gamble for me since it probably has the same qulity motor as the one I just killed. It is not water killing them, it is mud.

This actually happened Saturday evening on my way back home from a club run on the Sherman Pass Jeep Road, blew a pinion on the rear end. I could smell the gear oil but I thought it was coming from the truck in front of me as his diff cover was soaked.

After cleaning up a lot of the mess I wanted to make sure it was the seal so I put some oil back in it and would you believe it only took a few ozs? I find it really weird that a few ozs of oil can make that big of a mess! Anywho drove it around for a bit and sure enough it's the seal.

So I spent Sunday and Monday crawling around under my Jeep getting it all apart and cleaned up and ready for new parts. Man the dogs sure miss their nightly ride! LOL

Lol I was good at hiding the rust for a little while with the bed lined rockers and carpet over the floors. I'm going to be doing major rust prevention after the new metal is welded up and will Definitely post pics
