So last Thursday my little beast's wire harness decided to go up in flames literally. Lucky I caught it in time and was able to put it out with out damaging anything but the harness. So after getting it you're too my buddy's house. Find out how bad it really was. I'll try to upload photos for you all. Decided that there was no hope to even attempt to recover the old harness. almost every wire has been melted together including the ECM harness. I went with the Painless wire harness. Needless to say it's not exactly painless but a lot less painfull then it could have been. So this past week I have ripped my little beast apart. A lot of cursing and a few bloody fingers later I have gotten the new wire harness installed and the Nutter bypass done. All that remains is to rewire the speakers back in and hook the CB radio back up and I should be done I'll post the finished pics tomorrow after I am all done.

It works well no bump steer. I got tie rod and drag link also for it. I had the JB 4x4 bracket before that but it was always in the back of my mind heading down the road.

Stopped in on the machin shop yesterday, my 4.0 block is coming along well. Short block should be done by the end of next week. Waiting on the cam grinder to get back in town to get that done. My HO head will be done monday or tuesday. Waiting on the apn header to come in the mail, as well as my brown dog motor mounts. Ordered the 4wd hardware HEI distributor kit tonight too. I am really excited to get the thing back on the road.

Got the tank skid and straps changed out. Not too bad of a job, just took a couple extra sets of hands to get everything lined back up.

Finally decided to look into the lack of heat in the jeep. Found the heater core plugged up from all the crud that has been there since who knows when. Had to do a flush then a reverse flush over and over again. Whenever water started to run clean I reversed the direction until huge chunks started to come out. When it started to run clean again I put it together and now I have heat.

Put a set of Rigid Dually flood beam LEDs on my winch fairlead and and pair of apocalyptic lighting spot beam LED pods on my windshield in place of my old PIAA HID spot beams. So much better than HIDs and for only $125 shipped can't beat the deal. Check out undeadoffroad.com for the lights. They're same construction and brightness as the Rigid's.

Cut the bumper ends, painted the wheels, coated the bumper, cut the fender flares, painted the shocks, plastidipped the headlights for angry eyes. All in a days work.

Ordered new tires. BFG rugged terrain. Should be in by late next week.

Tune up tonight if I have time after work. Soak track bars again in anticipation of removal this weekend.

picked up 2 new BFG's (had dry rot and they started to come apart), and picked up an awesome cb antenna mount. im gonna paint it black but it mounts to the stock location of the tailgate stopper. my friend had 3 YJ's laying around 2 were being parted out and he found this after we talked about welding sheet metal on the top of the oem tailgate stopper and drilling a hole for an antenna mount. this is much easier

Updated my Brown Dog order from just motor mounts to the Super kit, with the "Super Engine Brackets" and the motor mounts together in a set that cost's the same as just the engine brackets sold individually.

I emailed Rugged Ridge about replacement step pads for the nerf bars on my jeep. I told them I bought the jeep recently and the plastic steps on the bars were cracked and broken. I was inquiring about buying replacement steps. But to my surprise, they offered to replace them, even though I was not the original owner of the bars. The replacements arrived today. I was quite surprised. Excellent customer service, even though I'm not the original customer!

Did some touch up work on the fenders and bumper. Could only show the true potential of the jeep by going to a place with moving water as the background.

In the last two weekends: new oil &filter, dist cap, button, plugs, wires, coolant flush. Then found that I had oil leaking from oil pan gasket. ..so new oil pan gasket and another oil change. When all this was done, I was driving back to the parts store to recycle all the oil I had collected and found that I was leaking coolant from thermostat housing. So I finished off this past weekend with a new thermostat&gasket.

Thanks Beach and yeah I've got a couple of shots of them. I just hit them with a cutoff wheel, sanded, primed, and rattle canned them matte black. Makes for very easy quick touch ups. By the way I know they're not super strong BUT I sit on them when working under the hood and I weigh 150. My new led side marker/turns since I didn't want to reuse the factory ones like I did on my old yj. This way they're not out on the side to get smashed.

Got my YJ fully detailed today, $100 later, its SHINING!

The hood and fenders were pretty oxidized, and it was a matter of time before it was too late, guy did a great job!

Oh, and yes, I put my gas cans back on the tailgate (see my thread for that).

Ok I'm gonna do this but I have to cut mine a little higher due to rust near the holes for the side marker. Yours looks real nice

Got my new tires put on today. BFG Rugged Terrain 235/75's. The old 30x9.5's were shot and starting to dry rot. These are much quieter and grab much better in the rain. The wheels need a good polishing, I'm borrowing a Flitz thing from a neighbor to polish them up nice. Are there any products the will protect the tire, make it look good, but not give that ridiculous Armor All shine?

Also discovered the dreaded "Jeep interior leak" today in the rain, first time driving the rig in the rain. I'll inspect all the usual suspects when I get a chance.

^^ Mine leaked like crazy every time I drove it in the rain, but I think it's cuz I haven't ever had a top on it.

Tires look good.

Thanks. My tub is rhino lined, so I'm not too concerned, but when I see water drops around the radio, it makes me a bit nervous.

My windshield-to-cowl seal was leaking because the previous owner cranked the screws in tight, pinching/deforming the seal. I replaced the seal, only snugging the screws just even with the gasket and now there's no more soggy radio.
