Started troubleshooting the fuel issue. Put in new pump over the weekend, tried to start and gauge pegged to full and no fuel pressure. Checked/replaced relays. Guess I'll have to drop the tank again and trace the ground issue.

Now you gotta ask the mud why it wanted to be inside your gas cap.

Not to be dumb just pointing out another cap could have been the one on his head if he went mudding

You are right, cap and rotor. I thought everyone would know that since anything in there makes your vehicle run like crap. Plus it is common to get stuff in there.

I did the LED conversion a couple days ago. I skipped my tach and speedo for now though, It seemed the led's were in the housing for them, since then I've found a good photo of the back and now I'm confident I can get those replaced too. Here's the photo of the back of the tach/speedo assembly 87-91

the grey knob things are the sockets for the lights, you twist to the left to remove them. the rest of the gauges can be done without removing anything but the bulbs in front. youn don't have to take the whole speedo/tach plate off, just loosen, pull forward 2 inches and reach behind there to untwist them.

the write up I used is here

LED Dash 95 YJ Step by Step

and another here.

I bought a CJ hardtop with a pop-up sunroof and full hard doors for $1000. I need to do the paint thing too, as the last owner did a bad rattle-can job. But since the rainy season is here already, I went ahead and put some weatherstriping under the top and mounted it for the season. I had to modify my YJ a bit to accept the CJ doors. I had to remove the door latch pin from the body, and then screw a piece of angle iron to the body to accept the old style door latch. Then I put a piece of hard felt board (ACE hdwr) Works great, came out nice. Does not rattle. Gee, I should take a pic....
