I fixed the drivers door that wouldn't open. The plastic clip from the inside handle broke and it also somehow got stuck in the locked position. Pulled the door apart, sprayed the heck out of the lock/opening mechanism with silicone lube and replaced the plastic clip. Now she's happy again!

Oh, and she got a new pair of original Jeep lights for the window pillars!

Installed an actual late YJ seatbelt for myself. Now I can reach the radio and a/c controls when I am driving. LOL. The seatbelt I had in there was from an 89 and it was way too short.

All in all, I feel a lot better about it. I cant beleive how people wire crap up. And really cannot beleive they dont burn their cars to the ground. Morons. All fixed now though.
Electrical is one thing I haven't gotten me head around yet. I would love clean up all wiring.

I did this same thing last week. I also found and old security system. I was afraid to remove it because I think if u do it wrong your jeep may not start since it does interact with the ignition circuits. Any thoughts on how to remove it with out messing up the ignition?

New Wheels and tires

Yesterday I tried to put my new step bars on and broke both body mounts that they were supposed to mount to. Replaced the main bolts and had to take a brake on that project. Decided to take my jeep and my girlfriend out for a trail ride to try the new Tires and wheels. Got them good and muddy climbed very well up a few hills and through some deep mud.

Put a new u-joint in the rear driveshaft and changed the diff fluid, bought a 260 piece craftsman tool set that was on sale for almost 50% off at sears and I broke a u bolt trying to take it off so I replaced that lol front springs are next and probably more new u bolts haha

Well not today but this week:
Replaced the steering stabilizer with a rancho 5000
Added a pro comp rear bumper (hitch receiver & d-rings)
Replaced transmission fluid with Redline MT 90 (It had gear oil in it from PO)
Replaced motor oil with Mobile 1 high mileage
Added a drivers side mirror as there was none
Re-did the exhaust, there was no tailpipe and the cat was resting on the skid plate. Also had them replace a section of pipe that was smashed under the transmission. Put a flow master 40 series style muffler on professionally. No more chicken wire hanging the muffler up barely.

Cup Holders

Well my jeep has no center consol or other storage to speak of but I really wanted a cup holder. Got these off Amazon and bolted them in to the windshield bracket holes. Very easy and gave me the cup holders I was looking for without putting anything on the floor.
Amazon.com: Rugged Ridge 13306.01 Drink Cup Holder: Automotive

No advertisement just a good simple thing to add if you want a cup holder but not a consol or anything sitting on your dash.

I got sick of the lights not being very bright under the dash. I pulled the stupid little covers off and got a couple 1156 bulbs at Vato Zone to replace the stockers, and now it's a lot brighter when I need it to be.

Ordered:
main bearings
rod bearings
timing chain kit
gasket kits

Was going to short block it but the leather is a little thin, figured if I can squeeze another 50k out the little 2.5 it's worth the $160

gonna tackle the 15 to 20 gal mod tomorrow and start the tear down.
