Pinion seal replaced( a lot harder than I thought), both DS u joints replaced, both rear axels seals replaced, spider gears out.
I am ready to put in the spartan and then do all the hardware and shoes on the rear.

Getting the pinion seal replaced was a job in itself. I had to get the correct in lb torque wrench, take a pinion bearing preload measurement, reinstall everything and then reset the pinion bealring preload measurement +5 in lbs.
Not an easy task I should say. I did make my own holder for the axel yoke so thats cool. I double checked myself by using the mark the nut method. It would not have been right so I am glad I did it the way the manual stated. If i would have just marked the nut and replaced it to the same spot the bearing preload would have been to little.
So all in all I learned something for sure and feel confident. I can't wait to do a whole axle setup. I have my 8.8 for my other project that will be a full rebuild/regear.

Over the weekend I replaced the U joints on the front drive shaft, swapped the yoke out on the t case for the front drive shaft (which was a pain with the skid plate on), replaced the vacuum switch on the tcase, rotated my tires, got rid of the obnoxious gold pin stripes, touched up some bed liner, and started doing some body work.

Since the last post I've removed the gold tribal stickers the PO had put on. Replaced the rear U joint straps. Replaced the transfer case output shaft seal. Installed leaf spring clamps on the drivers side rear leafs. The pack keeps spreading out sideways. Since the pass side leafs are sagged bad however, Im just going to use the clamp as a band aid until I buy replacement leafs for all four corners.

Finally got around to putting the soft top on and the CJ mirrors for the summer. I wanted to do it a month ago but had trouble with the head but it's all taken care of.

Replaced an old fuel line. Installed a fire extinguisher (after I saw the condition of the old fuel line). And, took Ranger, my black lab, for a ride to the in-laws to play in the swimming pool.

re-wired the dash speakers *again*.

over the weekend i put on some tough stuff vinyl rocker protectors along the rocker panels and along the back corners and under the tailgate.

figured the vinyl stuff was better than nothing while i save up to get the real deal in steel.

Still gotta take off the 3 inch body that came on it and I have a brand new set of 33's to put on it as well just waiting on my new wheels to get here..Also when the wheels get in I'm putting her in the shop and putting in 4.88 gears..

Not exactly what I did to MY YJ.. but what my friends YJ did to me.. It bit my finger while trying to remove his rear trac bar

Seriously, what Jeep engineer decided a leaf sprung vehicle needed trac bars?

Built a C/YJ dash with new gauges, and painted my hard top and front bumper.

Missing the tranny gauge in the bottom. Any ideas for one on the top? I cut too many holes .lol.

Pulled out the 4.0 with shot bearings and bottom end knock yesterday. Dropped another 4.0 with 3,500 miles on it the guy decided to replace with a V8. It's in but is running wide open when you turn the key with the throttle disconnected . Gotta figure that out Saturday

I just put a winch on mine a couple months ago. Only problem is I've been so freakin busy that I haven't been able to get out to where I might possibly need it. I think I'm about to fix that problem though!

One word of advice to you on mounting that winch: Mount the winch to the plate first, then the whole assembly to the Jeep. Goes on much easier.
