I know the TJ section has the same question but what about the YJ crowd ?

Is That yours, And how much did it cost?
Is it for sale, looking for father & son project?

Don't Jeeps have round headlamps?

The only thing I get is: "I wish I had one" and "What size tires are those".

I hear that the most.

Next is "What year is it?".....They are really surprised to hear it's 30 years old.

I'm an old grey haired married guy. My son is single with a Red YJ. He gets young girls asking for a ride.

Good Luck, L.M.

It's pretty much split. Both guys and gals love it and hate it. I'll either get guys giving me the thumbs up, as well as asking if I'm up to date on immunizations. Girls will give hoots and hollars, or turn away in disgust. The hoots and hollars tend to occur in the summer when the top is off.

My father was driving my Jeep and an adult in a JK called it a piece of crap, then my dad proceeded to tell him how this JK guy could call me when he got stuck or broke down.

There are rude MFs no matter where you go. The best thing to do is just shine them on.

I might respond to such a person with "What do you plan to do in case of an EMP?".
My Jeep is carbureted and has the computer removed. My only worry would be where to get gasoline. Shouldn't be a problem siphoning it out of all the non-running vehicles abandoned along the highway.

Good luck, L.M.

"Man, I've always wanted a Jeep"
Or
"I wish I had a Jeep"
To which I always respond "They sell them everyday"
The people that know me fairly well sometimes ask "Another one?" Or
"When did you get that one?" Along the same lines "What'd you do with your other one?"
This is my fifth Jeep, first YJ.
And, I also do get something like "Why does it have square headlights?" from time to time.
For a fact, I know that I have sold 5 Jeeps in the last few years.

The occasional "wanna sell it?" They get a "yes and no" answer - Yes I would sell it for a price (got deep pockets?) but no not really.

From my wheeling friends I get:

You got the POS running yet (again)?

In the same vein:
"I really like your Jeep! You want to sell it?"
Me: "sure, I'll let you have it for what I have in it - $20K!"

First comment is usually, "what engine is in that thing?"

Second comment, "nice jeep."

Usually along the lines of "cool Jeep", or "will you let me ride it-in it? *blush*"

I might have lied a little on the last one....

I once got my ass chewed by a Native American hobo while driving by the U District in Seattle for not driving a Bio Diesel vehicle or Propane. I love Seattle...

Seriously yesterday a young lady in the grocery store parking lot asked me if it was four wheel drive... I chuckled and politely said yes.

We had a local meet this past weekend and while there one of our jeepers stacked on his wife's jeep. This adorable little old lady came up to the group and said to us "Do y'all realize that Jeep is on top of the other one?" After one of the members said "Yes ma'am it's called stacking" She replied "Y'all do that on purpose?!?!" It gave all of us a little laugh and she seemed pretty amused lol!

I get this question a whole lot. Even though I live near Houston which never really gets cold lol. People often think my YJ is too old to have AC or heat. Not that I ever use the doors though.

Usually they are jealous, but wont go for a ride...

Some people ask why I parked in a compact spot, they usually hate hearing my Jeep actually takes up less space then the Tahoe they JUST parked in the next compact space...

How many miles per Gallon?
How old is it?
Why a jeep? arent you old enough?
Back in your teens?
How much does one cost?
I want a jeep, but...(Any excuse)
Does your wife knows you paid that for the jeep?
COOL JEEP ( Daughters friends)
Hate it (Daughter)
How fast can you go?
Does it have ABS, Airbag, Injection; Hidraulics, radio, AC, Heat....?

Maybe tho OP should have asked "What is the ONE MOST COMMON comment or question . . .!" You listed quite a few. And most I've never been asked or ever heard.

I doubt if many non-Jeepers ask about airbags or hydraulics (and if they're from L.A. like I am, they would know better).

A couple of your other responses sound like you're being judged! WTF?

-

I just get a thumbs up or nothing. Either way, who cares?

It's there for my convenience, and fun, not someone else's!

Most recently I've gotten "Man that thing is COOL!" and "I'll trade you my bike for it right now".

Back in the day when I owned my first YJ, I got a lot of flak for the square headlights. But I gave a lot of flak for the "family style" roll bars (mine had the "sports" style, and I loved it).
