What non-Jeepers say about your YJ

I know the TJ section has the same question but what about the YJ crowd ?
I'll start :
Is That yours, And how much did it cost?
Is it for sale, looking for father & son project?

Don't Jeeps have round headlamps?

The only thing I get is: "I wish I had one" and "What size tires are those".

I hear that the most.

Next is "What year is it?".....They are really surprised to hear it's 30 years old.

I'm an old grey haired married guy. My son is single with a Red YJ. He gets young girls asking for a ride.

Good Luck, L.M.

It's pretty much split. Both guys and gals love it and hate it. I'll either get guys giving me the thumbs up, as well as asking if I'm up to date on immunizations. Girls will give hoots and hollars, or turn away in disgust. The hoots and hollars tend to occur in the summer when the top is off.

My father was driving my Jeep and an adult in a JK called it a piece of crap, then my dad proceeded to tell him how this JK guy could call me when he got stuck or broke down.

There are rude MFs no matter where you go. The best thing to do is just shine them on.

I might respond to such a person with "What do you plan to do in case of an EMP?".
My Jeep is carbureted and has the computer removed. My only worry would be where to get gasoline. Shouldn't be a problem siphoning it out of all the non-running vehicles abandoned along the highway.

Good luck, L.M.

"Man, I've always wanted a Jeep"
Or
"I wish I had a Jeep"
To which I always respond "They sell them everyday"
The people that know me fairly well sometimes ask "Another one?" Or
"When did you get that one?" Along the same lines "What'd you do with your other one?"
This is my fifth Jeep, first YJ.
And, I also do get something like "Why does it have square headlights?" from time to time.
For a fact, I know that I have sold 5 Jeeps in the last few years.

The occasional "wanna sell it?" They get a "yes and no" answer - Yes I would sell it for a price (got deep pockets?) but no not really.

From my wheeling friends I get:

You got the POS running yet (again)?

In the same vein:
"I really like your Jeep! You want to sell it?"
Me: "sure, I'll let you have it for what I have in it - $20K!"
