What now?

What have I gotten myself into?
OK, this is my first Jeep, so be easy. Retired LEO, figured I needed a toy. A friend was looking to clean his garage for his new project truck. His 93 YJ, body off, new interior, new top, hard doors, new 4.0 crate motor, Rhino Lined tub, new white paint job and new 31"s and wheels, it followed me home.

Now it starts. The suspension has 164,000 on it and of course the springs are flat as a dead mackeral. I doubt that I'll be doing any climbing of hills the likes of Kilimanjaro, so as a weekend and sometime beach driver, I have one and a half questions. Will I be OK putting the suspension back together as stock (for ride purposes?) and not find a problem with the 31"s, or just go to one of any of the sixty or so best loved 2.5" kits?

I've noticed from the forum concerning suspension lifts, whatever the owner of the vehicle put on for a suspension, yep, it's the best one ever made.

For light use and not having to consider a small business loan, I'm somewhere between the RC and OME kits. However, the OME kit will require the trade of my first born male child. Not a bad idea at that.

Thanks for reading this epistle.

i don;t know if stock will fit 31s but i have 31's on mine with only 5/8th boomerang shackles on it and some fender trimming.

ome is one of hte best made. i don't have it on this wrangler but have had their 2.5" lift on a liberty and it rode better then stock. a very nice kit, that was.

It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me my rifle is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than the enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. Semper Fi.

I like the Signatures around here! Add a 2.5 lift to keep the tires out of the fender flares

Umm... as motivating as that was from ye olden days, what exactly did your responce mean? lol.

I had a differant jeep (Cherokee) and the suspension was shot. Granted, given a shot suspension, I would assume you need shocks, or will VERY soon.

I would get the lift, since, as stated by GOLDEN SAHARA the cost difference is negligable at best. Especially if you orfer from ebay or something. Go for the lift, man. You'll regret it later if you don't.
