What should I do?

I just bought a 94 yj with 151xxx miles, 4 inch rough country lift and 33in tires. I am looking on trying to quiet the inside, eliminate the gas/oil odor in the cab (the carpet has been removed) and also do whatever needs to be done to get her running perfectly. Any suggestions? I am new to this but I'm a quick learner. Someone help!

well to quiet the inside you can try this stuff out there called lizard skin, they have 2 types one for heat control and one for sound control. LizardSkin 50115 - LizardSkin Sound Control Insulation - Overview - SummitRacing.com

as far as the odors go clean the engine of grease and oil on the outside.

If you choose not to do the Lizardskin (which seems like a cool product), you can always buy a new carpet with thick padding. I know that my old lousy carpet helped deaden the sound in my Jeep. Even when I took that matted ratty carpet out, I noticed the noise was louder inside my cab.

You can check for gas or oil leaks under your body. I had a gas leak when I first bought my Jeep and it made it stink inside.

Look for your gas leak over the gas tank or over the driver side rear axle, those are the areas where there are rubber hoses.
