Where do you carry a jerry can ?

I am trying to figure out where to mount a jerry can. I want to have it outside and be able to lock it up so no one can steal the fuel. Anyone have any clever solutions ?

I have seen tailgate extenders that have a place to put the Jerry cans between the spare and the door.

I have also seen a rack that fits above the spare but that would block your rear view.

I'm evil id fill mine with water and a cup of gas so when some jack@ss steals it for the gas all they get is water and a fun tow and repair bill.

As far as mounting goes I think I've seen something that can attatch to the spare tire area.

I like that idea of putting it on the side. I think I will try that and put a couple of steels bars around the can in case I bump something. thanx

I wouldn't mind the TOW launcher!!!

Related to the subject - anyone know where to get the military style jerry can holder? I have a water can and a jerry can, but can't find the holder for them.

I have been looking on ebay and they are going for $40+ apc. Try your local craigslist, I found 2 jerry cans on mine for $20!

Thanks! I had seen the Blitz can holder, but wasn't sure if it would fit the military style can. I think the local 4WheelParts store has them, so I'll see if I put my hands on one.

If you have a military septer can, the $20 can holder will not work without modification. Your best bet is to make your own.

Three of us went wheeling over the Labor Day weekend. We were miles away from our support vehicles or a gas station. I think we all had to use at least a can or two. Trail camping rocks at 6500'.
