where'd they all go????

my father-in-laws rear axle took a dump,(diff plug came out, lost all his gear oil and killed it on the freeway) so i thought the easiest solution was to just swap out the axle w/ another D35 w/ 4.11 gears from a junk yard or craigs list. HA! FAT FRIGGIN' CHANCE!!!!! i've searched all over michigan and toledo area, and nothing!!!!!!!! NOTHING!!!!! what gives? its like the one axle all us guys get rid of, and i cant find one to save my life. i'd give him mine but im not ready to switch out yet. So now i may have to regear (and whatever else broke) any thoughts/ anyone w/ this axle near detroit or michigan?
