Which part takes the most beating?

Which part of your Jeeps underside takes the most beating when you go Off-road? I'm thinking about adding some under carrage protection and just want ideas where to start first.

In a YJ I would assume the driver and passenger take the most beating!

Sorry just couldn't help it. But on a serious note the most common armor people add are dif covers, oil pan skid, steering box skid, and gas tank skid. Not sure if they make some kinda protection for the leaf springs since I'm a TJ guy but that's the usual list.

Edit/.. I would also add rocker rails and corner gaurds.

Pumpkins, I've rarely hit or scraped anything else.

Arguing with a truck driver is like wrestling with a pig in mud, eventually you realize the pig enjoys it.

Diffs and Tie Rod seem to be the areas I've hit the most.

It's not what gets hit the most (pumpkins, for sure Skeeter!) it's what does the most damage when it does get hit. You can get differential guards, but most people don't need them - it's hard to poke a hole in those things, unless you like jumping your Jeep in the middle of rock piles, or driving really fast in bad terrain.

Your oil pan, on the other hand, is not super easy to hit, but it is comparatively easy to poke a hole in, and really really bad when it happens. Especially if you don't notice.

Gas tanks are bad too, but already well protected. And I'd rather run out of gas than oil.

Tie rods are hard to protect - you mostly just try to get bigger ones.
