easiest way is bolt the plates on your tub like the older cj7 has where the latch arm on the door rides on it

Ok here is a picture of the door
So you are saying take off the tj stricker and mount the cj style latch arm when I run the hard doors and take the it off when I do the half doors

Yeah... I hate those doors. I have the same style doors on my YJ and they get the job done but they are not great. I fabbed some striker plates to use with the doors and just a word of advice, the striker plates are LOUD. Like bust your eardrums loud. When you shut your doors you really have to slam them because of how the latch mechanism works. If you want I can post some pictures of the plates when I go to my Jeep in the morning.

hey "scukfan" do you still have those latches? im having the same problem that coledog has/had. ive got full doors and hard top from a cj7, and they kind of work on my 93 yj, but dont close all the way. im hoping your home made latches will do the trick.

Yes, I do still have mine. They are not homemade though, they are factory door strikers. If you want them let me know

I have cj7 doors and top for my 95. I just took some spare metal and bent it 90 to allow the latch to catch on the metal. just mounted it to my tub like stated before. Pain in the ass though in spring when i put stock half doors on with soft top.
