You are going to have a BLAST!!
Sure wish I could convoy along just for the ride.
Have a fun and safe journey, post up a progress report and pics when you can.
06 Rubi with some sort of double ended, chrome knobbed, cross threaded, infinitely adjustable, frequently breakable, worn out flammywhammers zip tied onto it.
It used to be a jeep thing... til that sh!t broke!
yes the jeep will be fine .
just service it before you leave and give your self lots of time so you can take breaks.
and i took my 53 cj 3b from here in texas back home to va and back and did it at a top speed of 55 , but when i was crossing the smokey and blue ridge mountains it made the trip a trip of a life time.
just stop at a half of tank and fill up and do a walk around the jeep for you and it along the way.
take ear plugs and a bikini top if your doing it top off like i did ( ear plugs were picked up in va for trip back......lesson learned)
plus you have something i did not have 20 years ago . you have a new family world wide by being on here , so if you come thru wichita falls texas you have a place to stay and a shop to service the jeep if it needs something and i would bet my last dollar if you post your route you will get the same offer of help and a place to stay your whole trip and what a trip that would be .
Did a roundtrip Boston to NC in April, logged about 2k miles, and had a blast. Envy you doing the x country thing, wish I had the time.
AND you can ALWAYS say you did it. I did the cross country thing in a brand new Durango 8 years ago and spent more time in Dodge Dealerships on the way than time on the road (POS). Bring some duct tape, channel locks and a 4 way screwdriver, kick up the tunes and watch the faces of all the midwesterners checkin out your rig with Connecticut tags and smile big.
Here in North Canton Ohio, not but 15 minutes or so south of 76 as you pass through Akron....I'll shoot you a PM with my number in case you're rolling through and would like a bed to rest on or to at least meet up for lunch or dinner depending on schedules. There's a bob evans just off of 76 in Tallmadge, Ohio as well as several other places along the way...
