Will the heater in my 94 Wrangler keep me warm

Will the heater in my Jeep keep me warm this winter after I get the soft top on it. I doesn't seem to put out very much heat. Should it blow hot air out anywhere other than the floor and the defrost? Does anyone have any tips on getting more heat or being able to stay warmer.

make sure your air intake is clean. if it is clogged, your air flow will decrease. the only air is at your feet and defrost. it'll get so hot you'll open the windows.

I ride bikes, so have lots of nice warm stuff to keep my warm. I love cold wind in my face, after multiple 100+ days here this summer. It's in the 90s today---again. come on fall.

Yup. Mines the same as those above. Mine will burn your feet if you leave em in one spot too long.

I suppose if ya live in Hawaii, hmmmmm,,maybe. heh-heh
My heater in my 89 yj turns itself off and on, but boy, when it`s on, its warm,
but then, I haven`t really driven it in really cold conditions yet,,
But I read on this forum once where somebody swapped out thier heater for one out of a blazer, I remember him saying it blew him right out of his jeep.
He mentioned he had to a little bit of hacking to get it to fit, but just a little.
I`ll see if I can find his thread

Heres that post.

A lot of YJ owners have been using a blower motor from a Chebby blazer.

This swap became so popular, that the same part number is now the standard YJ replacememnt.

I ended up getting part # PM102 from autozone. It has a larger diameter motor, that requires careful tinsnips to enlarge the hole through the firewall.

Be extremely careful when disconnecting the heater hoses from the core. The core is brittle & you will rip the hose necks off.

I strongly suggest slitting the ends of the hose (lengthwise about 1/2" in from the end.)with a razor knife before trying to remove them. If you do ruin the core, I think they are about $60.00 at most parts stores.

This mod will amaze you when you turn it on, The new slow speed, is faster than the old high speed! On the high speed, mine spawned a tornado.

Mine puts out alot of heat but just not much air flow. Its as if the hoses are clogged or something. Does anyone have any insight on anything like this?

I'm with everyone else here. My heater in my 90 blows so hot that most of the time I only have it on halfway. If it isn't blowing hot then I would do what everyone else said on here.

I am going to clean mine out the first chance I get and see if thats not my airflow problem. My buddy said there is somewhere he saw a site where a person ran some flex tubing for there jeep and directed the heat better. Anyone heard of anything like that?

The Blazer blower swap shouldn't be needed on 91-& up YJ's. Should already have the larger motor.

Check to see if the control cables actually do move the levers they are/aren't connected to.

Well apparently something is wrong with my controls because when you move the tep controler left to right from cool to heat it is not moving the little arm that I assuem switched a valve inside. You have to lean over and pull the plastic arm away from the metal rod and manually flip it over to the left. What say you???
