winter storage of soft top

Hi Everybody,

When I bought my Jeep it came with a hard top, Well i got a Bestop soft top this year and it is starting to get chillier here and time to switch back to the hard top. Which is the best way to store this for winter, and do I roll up the windows in their case or do I hang them so they are flat, Thanks to all who offer advice,

Exclamation hey

I am in the same boat as you with my 04' Wrangler. I'm switching to my hard top in a couple of weeks for the winter. Anywho, I think probably the best way for storage of the soft top itself is just to wrap it up the best you can. I would spray a little bit of oil on the sensitve parts just for safe keeping.

As for the windows, they actually sell something that you can store your soft windows in a convienent way. I think it maybe cheaper to probably make it yourself. I would go get some of that foamy stuff and use that to seperate each window. From there devise a nice bag or storage container for it. Be sure to clean your windows prior to winter storage. Use good stuff too.

Hope that helps.

If at all possible (which rarely is unless the garage is ALL yours and maybe you have a loft) - store the pieces flat & unrolled - especially the windows.

This is just my opinion - many will no doubt tell you they've stored theirs rolled year after year & thats probably true - but the windows ARE not built to be rolled..
As I said, just my opinion

It was in pretty rough shape. I'll be getting a new one come spring.
