Would someone double check me?

Going from what I've read in various forums, I can take a 4.0/ax15 out of a 95 Cherokee and put it in a 95 YJ (that has a 2.5/ax5), right?

Thanks,
Ted

you can do anything, but that is a common swap. the t case is clocked a little different in the xj. and the motor mounts need to be cut and welded further forward for the six cylinder.

do you have the whole donor? cuz you'll need wiring, computer, accessories and so on.

There is one for sale locally for $850 that I'm thinking about. It's got a hole in the driver's floor, but it runs well.

Is it a big deal to do the motor mounts? I don't weld, but there are some places local that do.

Will do.

One way or another, I'm going to get rid of the ax5. Problem is, I'm cheap.

I've just spent most of my morning off searching even more.

It looks like the mounts would be the only thing I can't do myself....unless I can convince my wife we need a welder and I teach myself.

Thanks again Dave.

I've still got a line on the 95 Cherokee. The owner is supposed to call me either tonight or tomorrow afternoon.
