YJ Console Mod

Okay so I just joined the yj club and I am very happy so far, but my center console is missing the lockable lid and when using the cup holders I am blocked out of fourth and reverse, so I am thinking of removing it and putting something else in there, I was thinking an ammo box would be cool, any suggestions or opinions?

There's a thread floating around on the forum about an ammo can center console. Look it up in the search, there's a whole write up

Anyone who has ordered this, I have a daily driver. I park in a okay but not great area for work and of course lane does unlocked so they don't slash the windows. How secure are these?

Mine is a Rampage aftermarket console, It has locks on doors with keys included. I would say a crook can get in anything.

As soon as summer is up.... I putting my hard-doors/hardtop on.

Honestly man if they want your stuff they're going to get. I don't see these stopping a crowbar

Sure. U she worn you both. I am just trying to avoid someone walking along and opening with their pocket knife or a screw driver. I was thinking of ammo can with padlock. About that strong is all I am hoping for.

By no means are these consoles anymore secure than a factory console. Just a aftermarket console replacement I found at a really great price and wanted to share here. My new console looks great and by no means will I be storing my G27 in it. I might store a beater handgun though. And to the original OP sorry for the Thread HIGHJACK....

Thanks I do very much appreciate the suggestions. Maybe I can find someone here in Colorado who had that console so I can get a feel for it's security. I understand that anyone looking to get into any car can do so. I just don't want to make it easy on them.
