Yj dies every night

Hey folks, My 1989 YJ is died every morning. When I jump it, it runs fine. Then I leave it in the garage all night, and it's died again in the morning. I checked the alternator and battery, both are good. Any suggestions???

You have some parasitic drain. If you have a multimeter you can check the amperage draw.
Remove the neg battery cable & connect the ammeter between cable & neg term of battery. Make sure all things (lights radio etc) are off!!!! Meter should read around 10-20 milliamps or less.
If you have more, start pulling fuses one by one until amperage drops to normal. Then check whatever is on that circuit & eliminate items one by one. Fix whatever is causing the draw and have a beer!

How did you check the alternator? Did you have it bench tested or tested in the vehicle? And if the battery is dead every morning. Then apparently the battery cant hold a sustainable charge and probably should be replaced.

It is possible that you have a draw like Beerbelly said. And he was correct in telling you how to find it. Sometimes electrical problems are a real PITA to find and repair.

Thanks beer belly. The heater was draining the battery each night. Took about 8 hours to figure that one out. Hahah. She's driving good now, just put a shackle lift on also.
