Yj for tj

So I have someone wanting to trade me a 93 yj 4.0 for my 97 tj 2.5. Not so sure what I want to do. My tj is in better shape but I sure wouldn't mind having a 4.0

Test drive it and make sure it drives good and is mechanically sound. Also check the frame for rust/spray paint over rust. I'd say it'd be a great trade if it's in good shape considering you'd be getting the better 4.0. The YJ is also a little more simple to work on with way less electronics to go bad. Sure it's a few years older but the simplicity of the YJ is great. Just get ready for a little rougher ride, although it shouldn't feel like you're riding on a bucking bronco lol.

Or let them sit in their "very cool" work shop, ^^^, instead of driving it...lol.

To the OP, I myself wouldn't make the trade. The 93 is NADA booked about $2,000 cheaper than your TJ. The ride is rougher, the flex is less. And anymore, the parts are harder and harder to come by. There are even some parts that aren't available anymore, not even aftermarket.

But the choice would be yours.

I wouldn't trade, unless it was a really awesome trade for me.
