YJ hood issue...

does anyone else have a "dancing" hood when driving freeway speeds? is that normal? Has it ever flew open while driving? It's kinda nerve racking, if you have ever been in a vehicle when the hood flies open unexpectedly.
Thanks.

Lol ya mine started when I removed the sound insulation .
I've done 90 down the interstate and mine didn't fly up . Just make sure your side latches are on .
You do mean the center looking like it buckles a lil and pops back ?

Yeah the center, the sides, it just bounces as the wind catches it and "dances" lol

your hood has sound insulation? mine's bare metal inside. Mine wiggled more before i replaced the two side hood lathes. Also I found the rubber bumpers on the Grill and the fender had degraded a bit. Helped when I replaced those.

I have don't 70+ with the side latches off accidentally and it has held, but it is scary.

my renegade has insulation. i replaced the front rubber bumpers and all is fine. i put new latches on also. i coated the latches with rubber coating made for tool handles. they are real solid and do not allow and hood movement at all.

LOL Yeah, but mine has a Chevy 350 under the hood, doing 75+ is no problem. The problem is once I am over 75, she gets a little squirrelly lol

Ya mine used to have insulation and when it did no worries . Yet enough oil on it I decided to take it off then I could see it buckle some . I'm gonna Raptor line it first weekend it don't rain alone with my rims . And I'll see if that helps .
