YJ Molle Door Panel Panels and Parachord Pull Handles

Hey guys.

Just wanted to put this out there incase anyone was interested. This week I'll be working on designing and making a test pair of Molle panels for the YJ Sahara style half door panels as replacements for the vinyl pockets on the bottom of the doors. Also, with however much parachord I have, I'll be working on making some pull handles for the doors out of parachord.

I guess I'm just trying to gauge the communities interest in these items incase someone else may want them too.

For reference these are the style of door panels these molle panels will be designed to fit: Replacement Door Panels 1987 - 1995 Jeep Wrangler

UPDATE: Finished a pair of parachord door handles tonight. I used about 36 feet of parachord for the pair to give them a strong core and a comfortable thickness. I'll take some photos in the morning and post them.

Idk how you plan to make the molle panels for the doors but i think the idea is awsome. I dont have a sahra with the bags, but i have half doors and think that the combo of the parachord handle and molle would be sweet! Post up pics!

Here are some pics of the door handles:

After looking at these photos, I think I'm going to black out the handle mounting hardware to match the handles.

if you find a way to reproduce those pouches at a reasonable price, you'll make a fortune.

@Paul

My sister is a seamstress of sorts. She was going to make those pouches, then I got the idea to do molle panels in place of the pouches. I have a pattern made up already for the pouches just in case.

The "Survival Handles" look great! I might have to make myself a set! Waiting to see what you come up with for the MOLLE door panels!

If you do make your own, make sure to your end loops are large enough to fit around the post on the backside of the endcaps. On this first go, they're a tad to small and are pinched down against the door instead of around the post. I'll be correcting this in future production.

As for the molle I have a couple ideas I want to play with, I'm not sure which is the right approach at the moment. I'm definitely going to make a molle panel that fits in the area at the bottom of the door panels you see above, but I also want to see if I can add some extra molle space to fill out some of the other space above, as well as attachment techniques for a clean look.

UPDATE: Got one of the molle panels done and installed, I'll get some pics in the morning. Turned out ok for it being a first time thing. I currently have it installed with industrial velcro, but I think I'll add a few grommets for bolt-downs at the corners just to help hold it on. I made mine to match the color of my door panels, now I just need some molle pouches to place on it.

I'm really interested in the panels especially if I can have them on my yj (not a Sahara) or if I could mod then to make them work

Ok, sorry it took me so long to update, it's been hectic the last few weeks. Here's the driver's side panel. I haven't finished the passenger side yet. Right now it's being held on with industrial velcro but I will be adding grommets and bolts to make it more secure.

If you decide to start making these handles I'd be in for a set if you come up with a mounting kit that's better then the factory style. My little attachments are long gone. The molle panels are awesome too. Never enough places to put things in a Jeep.

Wow the door molle panels look fantastic! I'm really interested to see what other molle door panel designs you have and attachment methods. And I definitely want to be on the top of the list if you start making these!

I'm totally bringing this from the dead, but I'd just like to follow up if you make these still or are selling any. I'd DEFINITELY buy some! I'm looking to bedline my door panels and I wanna put these on!

Can you tell me where you found that mounting hardware? I got a nice pair of those a few months back from a guy who braids them on ebay. They look like crap on my doors though since I dont have those nice ends to put them in. I just used fender washers.
