YJ Parts on a CJ?

Hey jeepers got a question...I'm about to install a 4 inch lift on my YJ and I had a question bout shackles and such. Once I install the lift I wanna take the stock leaf springs and my 1.5 inch lift shackles off of my YJ and install on my CJ-5.

My question is I was wondering what parts off of my YJ would fit on it suspension wise? My CJ needs new shackles and leaf springs so I was wondering if the swap is possible.

Thank You!!!

The CJ front springs are not as wide a the YJ, thus rear should work but front will not. At least that is what I recall.

YJs are 2.5" all around CJ is 2.5" rear 2" front
It is pretty common to put YJ springs on CJs though.

All above is correct. With a little modification, you could alter the rear mount for the front springs and make a custom set of shackles. Also, you will need to make a new plate for the u-bolts at the axle. Not that bad of a job.

I just ordered a OME 2.5" lift and all the conversion kit for my CJ.

4wd.com and Quadratec both sell a conversion kit but they are not complete.

Main things you need are front spring perches and new shackles. The YJ springs like everyone said are 2.5" wide vs. cj 2" and they are also 1" longer.

Your shocks are different on the yj than the cj too.
